Hello Tracy
This is just my opinions. What are you doing different than what you did since you could eat just about anything? Are your meal portions larger? Are you keeping your water intake? Are you still doing the same amount of exercize? Remember, we don't eat that much anymore but we have to eat well. If not our body goes into starvation mode. Maybe keep a log of what you are eating, drinking, and exercizing and show it to your doctor. There has to be a reason. Good luck and let us know the outcome.
Tracy you have got to get back on track!! You have come too far to let it go now. Get back to basics. Protein protein and more protein. I refuse to give up, here's what i do.
i wake up and drink protein right away. i take my vitamins right and drink at least 80 ounces of water a day. When i eat, i eat the protein first, then fruits or veggies, and last carbs or fat. By the time i get to the carbs, i'm about full anyway and don't eat much. If i snack , i grab cottage cheese, or a sf popsicle, or a sf fudgesicle. i sometimes drink light and healthy tropicana orange juice. I eat like four to five small meals a day. I exercise every day, whether it be walking, or a full workout. I am doing this for me, because i love who i have become. I hope this has helped you.
Hugs

Hey tracy:
I have the same problem, sort of. I had quit losing. I was working many hours on 2 jobs and had completely quit exercising, wasn't getting my water etc. But was still eating small portions 4-5 x a day. After getting a little concerned, I talked to a friend who asked me a simple question...What are you doing different?? What can you change?? So I changed what I could, mainly my water intake and protein..Unfortunately still not getting much exercise but fit in what I can (taking stairs instead of elevator, parking further out in the parking lots, etc to get in at least some exercise)...
Anyway, you can get back on track. You look great and have come this far....Remember why you did this in the first place, for you and your health....Good luck
You know, this is a really serious thing for us who are this many months post-surgery. My surgeon talked about this problem with me BEFORE I even had surgery.
I haven't lost any more in about 8 or 9 months, but I try very hard to keep it within a 5-pound range....around 185 for me is good with my 5'9" frame.
But, the very old saying "Calories In must be less than Calories Out" is the real key. You must burn more calories than you are taking in for you to lose pounds.
Eating less is fine, but just try to really bump up the exercise. Your body will continue to burn calories even at rest. You know all about muscles vs. fat....and everything else about the I & O's of calories. I am preaching to the choir.
I try to get in walking when I can....I have a new dog, and she loves to walk! I drink at my desk constantly. I really try not to snack so much. It's all very hard, but I just LOVE my new body and all the new clothes so much, I cannot bear to think that I would gain enough back to buy bigger clothes again. No way!
I KNOW how hard it is.....an I even woke up thinking about you this morning. (I read the post last night.) It must be difficult for all of us. But, I know you can do it, and I have confidence that you are going to try your best---for the rest of your life---to keep it off.
Good luck to you! Keep us posted on your success!

Hi Tracy,
Remember me? We had surgery on the same day.I am struggling these days as well.I go up and down with the same 5 pounds.Today I weigh 157 tommorrow it will be something different.I know I need to exercise more,I hear weight training makes a world of difference.I don't have the time or money to join the gym so I'm at a loss on what to do.Let me know what you come up with.I eat just about anything these days that too can be a problem. My goal at this point is to not gain.If i lose that would be great but I haven't seen any weight loss in at least 6 months.Size 5 lucky you,I wear a 10 sometimes a 12.How tall are you?I feel great and have a ton of energy I guess that's what matters most!!!
