I have not lost a pound sence mid feb last year! It was not too bad cause i made it to 153 and was happy with that however in the last few months i have gained 8 pound, inpart from being more inactive during the winter but also from having some PCOS problems again. I am working at not gaining more and i hope to start losing again once i get PCOS under control again. I jest know that it is rare to stop losing at only 7 months post op. Am i alone on this one?

I am 17 months post op and haven't lost any weight for 3 months. Everybody is different. Do you excersise? Drink lots of water? I have been guilty of forgetting what got me here and I have to force myself to return to the basics. It does seem however that whatever I do, I am not going to lose any more weight. Which is fine. I would like to know that if I wanted to lose another 10 pounds I could. good luck Phil

Exersize? these past few months no and i know that is one cause for the lil gain i have had. (but i am a ****tail waitress and run around a bar all night) Water? yes I am a water freak!! I am dealing with alot of PCOS issues right now and that is why i have had regain and i have to start meds for that problem (weight gain is the least of the problems that thing causes) however it is still odd and rare that i stoped losing at 7 months out. My BMI was (almost) in the normal range when i stoped losing but even at 153 i was still a little over weight (i am 5'4 1/2) I have knowen a good amount of people who stop losing around 14 months or so but no one who has stoped at under 12 months like me. Thanks Phil

Hello Sara. Just remember before I give my opinion, "I am not a Doctor". Is your BMI in the normal weight range? Has the 8 pounds that you gained affected your BMI? Have you commented this to your doctor? I saw pictures of you in your profile and you look great. I thank you for sharing with us. We all have to remember that just because we have lost excessive weight, we can still gain weight. Keep in touch and let us know the outcome.

No even when i was at 153 i was still slightly in the over wieght range i have never made it to "normal" and this gain as small as it is is getting me farther from there. I know we can gain it back and that really worries me. for the most part i have done things right and i am sure that this regain is from my PCOS problems and i will be seeing my dr about that soon however it dont really explain the weight loss stopping so soon. As for the photos I was at 153 in the last one and i liked it there (even tho i was not at normal bmi yet) I want to get back there or even a little lower to keep me in that range) Thanks Louis!

You know it seems like I haven't lost a lot in a long time, but I think it's because I lose so s-l-o-w anyway. However, I have struggled with these last 10 pounds....I'm up a few one week and down the next.... ....But, when I come down to the bottom side of the weight, it may be down another pound from my previous lowest weight. So, I say I am losing it, albeit slow (there's that word again.) Maybe on average a pound every two months? I could work harder at it and lose it faster, but I am doing fine. I just don't want to gain it back....and I know it could happen if I don'****ch my input and output (I & O, as my surgeon calls it)----just a fancy way of saying "diet and exercise." ~Laura

I have lost about 10 pounds in the past 4 months, but that's about it. While that is frustrating, I have gone down 2 sizes in that time, so my body is definitely still getting used to its new shape You look fantastic - enjoy it! Jen

Hi, everyone My surgery was 8/30/2004...down to 170 from 337 originally and trying for another 10 lbs..which are NOT coming off. I had my TT in November 2005 and had taken off 13 lbs more (8 1/2 of excess skin and 5 just because). I've gained that back mostly because I seem to be eating more (a lot more easily too) and have not been excercising all that much due to a bulging disc problem. But...my dr told me to increase my excercise by 10 minutes a day, slow down on the not so good munchies and it should come off. I have an appointment with my surgeon in 12 days and would love to be down those extra 10. More water (which I can actually drink more of these days) helps too. Good luck!!!!

I had my surgery 8/31/04, and I lost 120#'s in the first 9 months - AND NOTHING SINCE! I still could lose 10 or 15, however, I am very happy at 170, size 12. No, it's not skinny, but my body was always pretty voluptuous and I feel good right where I'm at. Now, however, is the struggle with emotional eating, as everything goes down so easy anymore! Corina

Wow! You are definitely not alone. I had my surgery 8/16/04, and I am 19 months post-op and haven't gone down since September. I am up and down the same 15 lbs. and it is so frustrating. I'm so far from goal, and feel like an absolute failure. I started out at 359 and depending on the day I've been as low as 229, today I'm 233. I want to lose another 50-70 lbs, and feel like I never will. I am happy that I had the surgery, but at the same time feel the same desperation right now as I did prior to surgery. I guess I'm destined to be obese. I feel like crying on a daily basis, no matter what I do, I FAIL.
