HELP!!!!
I had my surgery 08/09/04.
Sorry, My name is Tiffany Trujillo. OK, I had my surgery and it seems as if my weight loss has stopped. It has been the same for the past 7 months. I haven't lost anything. But I did gain 3 lbs.! I am very nervous that I am going to get back to where I was.
I look at other people who have had this surgery and they look GREAT and here I am still BIG!
I went from a size 30/32 top and 28 pant size to a 18/20 top and 18 pant size. So I have lost a significant amount but it is getting so frustrating.
I quit walking because I am getting so frustrated with this!
ANY ADVICE AND HELP PLEASE I NEED SOME HELP!
Can someone HELP me????
Respectfully Submitted,
Tiffany Trujillo
Hi Tiffany, I am sorry to hear you have problems losing weight. Have you talked to your doctor concerning this problem? Are you seeing a nutritionist? Maybe you should log your food intake and see if you are eating too much or maybe too little. Remember that if we eat too little our body goes into starvation mode. That was one of my major problems. Don't stop walking. We need to always work out regardless of our weight. Maybe, just my opinion, add some strengh workout. Weightlifting can be good. They say, muscles burn calories. All I said is just my opinion. Hopefully you will get more reponses that can better help you. Good luck and let us know how things are working out.

Hi Tiffany
I'm sorry you are so frustrated. Are you doing your protein and drinking all your water? I still do two protein drinks a day, drink at least 80 ounces of water and i exercise regularly. i change my exercises frequently so i make sure to focus on the whole picture. I am also on my feet 8 hours a day working. I walk the mall at least once a week too. I do not count carbs, i need it for energy, but i don't go overboard either. Remember , protein first, fruits and veggies next, and then the other stuff. Do talk to your surgeon/dietician, and get into a support group if you can. I hope it gets better for you and you find the answers you're looking for .
Hugs

Tiffany,
You and I are in the same boat! I always laugh because there are so many "little people" having the surgery - they weigh less than I do now - and I'm 17 months post-op!
110 pounds is a lot to be proud of! It's hard to see that for yourself, but everyone else knows what a difference it is. I have allowed myself a 5 pound range. When I get near the top of that range, I know I need to get my butt in gear again.
My goal for this year is to lose another 10 pounds. My doctor and I never set a goal weight, but percentage wise he considers me to have been successful. I'd love to be under 200, but honestly, I don't know if my body will ever get there - and that ****** me off
Please do keep in touch. I'd love to help you in any way, even if you just need a sounding board.

Tifanny,
I have the same surgery date as you and started at about the same size I think.
I have a suggestion that may help. I plateaued at about that same point & did not lose for about 3 months. I had been working out about 4 days a week, and continued to do so during that time. What finally helped me start losing again was a change in my workout. I started taking the cardio classes at the gym (step or cardio kickbooxing & etc) and then I also started lifting free weights.
The classes helped me do a bit more cardio w/out getting bored, and the free weights help me build muscle, which seemed to jumpstart my metabolism. It was a bit intimidating at first to do the free weights, but I just did it anyway. You can also take a Body sculpting or weight training class to get you started. I started losing again, and am continuing to lose. It is slow at this point, but never the less I am still losing. I am down to a size 12 in pants (I am 5'8'') and M or L top, depending on the cut. I still want to lose a bit more, but feel good about where I am as well. I hope this helps. Feel free to reply if you have any more questions.
