I just dont understand
hello all i am 14 months out, I started this journey with major complications and would say for the first six months i stayed sick more than i was well. Now I can keep things down but my choices are slim. which is ok with me, as long as i dont get sick. My problem is I stay tired all the time by evening time im wore out, I have had labs done several time and I would guess they are ok, they dont call and when i call they say all looks well, I am taking liquid b12 and spray vit. Nothing seems to give me engery, I just feel this isnt normal, Im just wondering is there anyone out there having this kinda problem?

Hey Cyndi,
Although you have not received any negative feedback from your bloodwork, check with your doctors office. We have a coordinator at my doc's office and she was able to tell me that I was taking the wrong kind of a vitamin, I think it was the iron, a lot of time she is aware of patients issues even when the doctor is not because she talks to us more than the doctor's do. At any rate they at least need to know that you are experiencing some minor complications. They may have dealt with it before and can tell you exactly what to do. Hope this helps.

I am 13 months out and I have days when I feel really tired. My Iron is low, I had an Iron infusion a month ago. And I do the nascabol (b-12 nose gel) once a week. My vitamin c was also low, and now I take 2 500 mlg. chewables with my 2 chewable vitamins a day. Maybe you need more protein also. I feel better if I eat steak or sliced Turkey. I am sorry you have had trouble eating. I can't eat very much sugar or milk, but other than that. I eat pretty much what I want. Just small amounts. My Dr. makes you keep down soft foods before you can leave the hospital. But all Dr.s are different. I sure hope you get to feeling better soon. Take Care, Lisa
Hi Cyndi
I was feeling exactly the same way, i still do a little. When i went to the doc yesterday to go over my labs, my protein, iron and b12 was really low. So now he is giving me b12 shots and i went to gnc and got their womans vitamins with iron that my doc recommended and i upped my protein. That b12 shot did wonders, and i'm getting back to normal.
my doc always makes sure to give me a follow up appt after he does my bloodwork, he keeps a close eye on me.
I hope you can get it figured out, i know what a hard time you had and you sure want to keep your health up. Stay on top of this, and make sure your doc starts paying more attention.
Hugs
Linda
Cyndi:
I was having an energy problem just recently---along with some dizzy spells and slight nausea, but no vomiting. My husband asked if I was still taking my iron, and I realized that I had run out about two months ago!
My GYN recommended "slow iron" to take daily. So, I went out and bought some CVS brand slow iron tablets, and I started taking them twice a day. I also take a vitamin C, 2 B-12 tablets, 2 multi-vitamins, 3 calcium tablets daily. Of course, I spread them out over the day, because of when I have to take them.
If you're already happy with your other vitamins, then try adding the slow iron tablets. I felt better and more energetic, literally within 12 hours! I hope it helps you!

W ow i think i might see what the problem is, my doc. told me to take a multi vit. I added liquid b-12 about 3 months ago, about 2 months ago the doctors office gave me a spray vit. to try. other than that Im not taking anything else.....I am gonna try to get a list of thing I need to be taking and try that. hopefuly that will help...
thanks for the info

Hi, I will put my two cents in. My doctor recommends Dietary Supplements from Bariatric Advantage as they are made for WLS patients. I take 2 calcium citrate, 400 mg each per day, chew able iron, 29 mg per day chew able multi formula, high in vit A, D, E & K 2 per day and Chew able iron, 18 mg per day. He also wants us to take a B-12 shot monthly.
I have not been getting the injections as I should. I noticed my engery level is low, so need to get myself back on track.
