Ohhh there are lots of things you should know and lots of things you should be concerned about!!!! Be very sure that this is what you want to do and that you are ready for a LIFE long journey. My surgery was last August 31st. And I would do it again in a heartbeat, but it has been one heck of a year. The 1st 6 months are the hardest (at least for me) Make sure you are going to a Dr. that knows what he or she is doing.I really liked my Dr. and trusted him. Click on my name and read my profile if you want. I hope you have great results and are as happy as I am. Email me anytime. Lisa in Alabama
THANKS FOR RESPONDING LISA. I HAVE BEEN DOING MY RESEARCH. I HAVE BEEN TO EVERY INTERNET SITE I CAN FIND. I HAVE RESEARCHED EVERYTHING I COULD ON MY SURGEON. SO, AT THIS POINT, I AM MORE THAN O.K. TO PROCEED. I JUST PRAY THAT I DON'T RUN INTO ANY COMPLICATIONS. HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW? HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO GET BACK TO YOUR NORMAL ACTIVITIES? HOW IS THE PAIN?
I will pray that everything goes great. I think that I prayed more than I ever have in my life the few months before surgery. I prayed that if it was meant for me to have surgery that it would happen fast and I had my first appointment at the end of June 04, and my surgery was August 31st 04. I thought that was pretty fast. Some people have waited 18 months for my Dr. Everything just fell into place. I know God was with me all the way. I couldn't have done it any other way. I did think about running out of that hospital a couple of times! LOL Before surgery I would sit straight up in the bed in the middle of the night and think there is no way I can get my stomach cut in half!!!! I still can't believe I did it! But very glad I did. The surgery was not too bad, the worst part was that I always wake up sick. And pain meds make me throw up and have headaches, so I had to mostly take just tylenol. I stayed in the hospital 2 nights and I had no drains or anything like some people have had. Be sure to wear the leg things to keep from getting blood clots. My Dr. said they were a must. I was sore for a pretty good while, but it was nothing like my c-section I had with my daughter. I was very tired for several months. I feel better now that I take Nascabol, (B-12 gel for your nose) I just put it in my nose once a week. I take 2 Centrum chewables a day, and calcium, but don't take them at the same time. I drink lots of the Walmart brand of crystal light tea with lemons cut up in it. It is so good. Email me anytime, If you email me from my profile I will send you my address back. I would like to keep in touch. I know all the emotions that you are going through, but trust me it will be over before you know it ( I can't believe I am 11 months out today) It will all be soooooooo worth it. Just take it one day at a time. Everyday it gets a little better. Take Care, Lisa
