Tummy Tuck with Muscle Tightening and Hernia repair
Hi Everyone,
Well, as the title reads I had all this performed on Wednesday July 20th. ambulatory surgery lasted four hours because the hernia was bigger than the sonogram showed. My plastic surgeon, general surgeon and both anesthesialogist were EXCELLENT. The hospital and staff were also incredible. I'm thankful for having this site to assist me with my plastic journey. Was I prepared for this surgery YES. Did I have high expectations from my surgeon and others DANG straight (right) were my expectations met....Down to the letter. Okay so just somethings that regardless of how much you read, research or come across doesn't prepare you for the reality of what YOUR body will do. So Thursday and Friday were both horrible days however, I've made it through and NEVER once wished that I'd never done this. On the contrary both those days the thing that got me through was my INCREDIBLE stomach. WOW!!!! So while I wasn't prepared to be attached with the binder of death I know that it's just as important for my healing and over all look. while I wasn't prepared for the incredible muscle SPASMS I have a doctor that I was able to contact within 3-5minutes and get ASSISTANCE that was world class. Thankfully SUPER VICODIN is his drug of choice and I must say WOW!!!! Also, being familiar with WLS patients he instructed me to pop two motrins!!! That's right people I took motrin. While he totally understood the effect it could have on my pouch. His concern was beating back the edge of the spasm and getting those things under control. For this I'm thankful that my doctor was able to look at me from a multi-dimensional view not just from his vantage point. So as I sit here draining less that 10cc for a 24hour period I realize that my journey has really started. I understand that there are some who might be able to relate and others that would think the vicodin is got it's grip on me again. Trust me it's great!!!! I love my tummy and look forward to treating it with integrity.
Peace and blessings,
Marcy
I also Have a hernia and want a tummy tuck. I am curious, did your insurance pay for the whole surgery or did you have to pay some out of pocket. I have blue cross blue sheild alabama. I know they have to pay for the hernia surgery but I am wondering if I have it at the same time if they will cover it. thanks Sheila
