It's almost been a year for us August people, can you BELIEVE it has been almost a year? Holy Cow! Let's do an August roll call a little early for our one year...but I can't wait. How are you coming along? Tell us everything...are you at goal? Are you close? Are you a slow but steady loser? Any complications, any regrets? What is the best thing that you have experienced? Any and all comments available. I just posted a recent picture in my profile...it isn't the best because my husband is too impatient to take more than one picture and I am too picky to not have about 25 to choose from! Anyway, I started at 283...my surgery was 8/10 - I was wearing a size 24 pants and a 2x-3x top. I now am 156 and wear a size 6/8 pants and a small/medium top. I have lost 127 pounds and I am happy with that. I had 160 in mind for a goal, and I surpassed that and the surgeons goal of 167...so that makes me happy as a clam. As long as I am in a normal weight range for my height and my BMI is normal, everything is cool. I try to get in all my vitamins and pills a day and most days I do it. I struggle with the protein, but I try to get it from my food and not rely on supplements too much. I love the new confidence that I have and my only regret is that I didn't do it when I was a little younger and had better skin. LOL...the sag is a downfall, but I will gladly take it. Bless you all, and I can't wait to hear how you are progressing in your journies! Tiffany 283/156/160

Hey all, I feel like I am doing pretty well with this surgery. I started at 337 and was wearing a 30/32. I am currently weighing in at 195 and wearing a size 14. I haven't been a size 14 since highschool, so I am feeling really good about this whole experience. I feel like I have regained a sense of balance in my life in every way. I also feel like this surgery has rekindled so much love, honesty, and passion in my marriage. We are really getting to know eachother on a whole other level. I have been loving shopping at regular stores and borrowing clothes from friends. I have also been soaking up every summer activity possible. I feel reborn in so many ways that I feel like a spokesperson for this surgery. I will post some recent pics soon, and I can't wait to see how everyone else is doing. Take care!!! Much Love, Shelli

Great idea Tiffany! Great job for you on your journey! Congratulations! Well, I was 254 at my highest...and 244 when I had surgery. I'm down to 142 now only 2 lbs from goal...loosing a total of 112 lbs so far. I started in a size 26 and am now in a 6/8 and med/large top (depending on the maker). My diabetes is gone, my hypertension is gone and my sleep apnea is gone. My BMI went from 45 to 25.2...almost normal. I'm working out regularly now and just working on toning. I also try to get in all my vitamins in daily and get in all my protein. I do struggle with dried fruit...it seems to be my weakness lately. I have extra skin which I'm going to try to have removed later...but for now I'll deal with it...I figure it'll come in handy when I get pregnant...which is my next goal. I'm ending the patch after this week to see if it happens. Kristy 254/142/140

I am not doing as well as some of you, but I'm not worried about it. I love where I am. I started at 278 the morning of surgery, down from 285 before liquid diet. I am now 172. I was wearing tight 24 pants & 3X tops. I can now where 14 pants & large tops. I am suppose to be 150 lbs per my Dr. My own goal was 175. Now will be happy with 160. Dr says everyone comes back up 10-15 lbs & that will put me right back here. My BMI still is overweight, but I am not losing sleep over it. I walk everyday. I take my vitamins religiously. I never get all my protein or water in, but keep trying. My blood work shows everything is going well. I can not eat bread or steak but so what. I have accepted the trade off. I sometimes can eat sweets, & sometimes can't. All in all, it's the best thing I ever did for myself.

I started at 256 lbs. I have lost 116 lbs weighing in at 140. I originally set my goal to 140 but I am going to shoot for another 20 lbs (I am only 5'0). I hope to hit my goal by my one year anniversary or at least get close. My BMI right now is still considered overweight so I might as well go all the way. The past couple weeks I have been bouncing around 141-143. So on Monday I decided its time to start exercising hard core. I jogged 1.5 miles and walked 3/4 of a mile. And sure enough this morning I finally hit my goal. I believe it is up to me to lose this last 20 pounds and it is going to take some hard work. It was great to be able to jog 1.5 miles without stopping it felt great. I am very happy with my loss and feel wonderful. This has been a great 10 months with lots of rewards. Congrats on everyones great success and keep up the good work! --Marianne 5'0 256/140/120
