Follow-up to Exercise Post

Hi folks, I posted last week about my exercise dilemma. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/surgdate-forums/08-2004/postdetail/9414.html?vc=0 Basically, it was "Why does my weight not change much when I am working out like crazy?" I know I am gaining muscle and losing inches, but still, so frustrating! Anyway, I took five days off exercise and you know what? I lost 3.5 lbs. in a week! That's a lot for me, at this stage of the journey. I've heard that sometimes your body needs a rest to actually give up the pounds, after lots of exercising. Whether that's technically true or not, I don't know, but it rings true for me. I say this not to discourage people from exercising. Quite the opposite! But if you are working out 5-7 times a week and not seeing a change on the scale, perhaps a few days off would be encouraging to you. If you think it would completely knock the exercise incentive out of your system, PLEASE DON'T STOP! It felt good to hit the road again this morning and take a nice, brisk walk. I can't believe I am saying this, but I missed the exercise! I think I missed the post-exercise feeling that I had done something good with my day, more than the exercise itself. Thanks for your support. I hope everyone has a good day. Kathryn -104 since surgery -116 from highest
