Here I Go Again!
It's 12:30 AM and I can not sleep. Monday I had one of the worst experiences of my life. When it was all said and done, I up blood. This scared the living crap out of me.
I saw Dr. Steinberg today, and after discussing all my issues and symptoms, he thinks I have an ulcer in my pouch.
I am waiting for the upper GI and also have to have my intestines screened within the next few days- then back to him on the 25th followed by an endoscope and possible SURGERY...
Honest to God guys, After the first one in August, My ICU stint, and emergency surgery on December, I don't think I can do another one....
I know there are several of you out there that have endured worse....Many has been 10 times worse then what I have experienced, I am trying to calm myself down but DAMN IT!!! I AM NOT HAPPY!!!...
SIGH

Denise, bless your heart! You haven't been able to catch a bone with these complications. I have paid special attention to your postings since our surgeries were the same day, and I am so sorry that you have continued to face obstacles. I hate the heck out of that for you.
Know that we are here for you and wishing you the best. I certainly hope you can get this treated and can be DONE with your complications! There's lots of living to do and just no time for these setbacks. You'll be on the mend soon, I pray!

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I have an ulcer in my pouch also. They put me on carafate (nasty liquid) and doubled my Nexium which have brought mine under control. I had my surgery in August, my scope where they found the 80% of my pouch was covered in an ulcer. Since then things have gotten better except for a really brutal stomach virus in February.
I will keep you in my prayers that things will work out for you. Please try to remember that your attitude about the procedure and you recovery will impact your successs. I will keep you in my prayers!! May God Bless and Keep you!!!

Hi Denise!
I remember you from the BAF boards. Anyway, I am so sorry to hear that you having so many difficulties and my heart and prayers go out to you. I know you have been on one hell of a roller coaster ride since surgery and I really hope things get better for you - and stay better - soon.
I too developed small ulcers in my pouch post-surgery. I think it was beginning before surgery actually because my GI doctor asked me about acid reflux when he saw the results of my endoscopy.
My ulcers were discovered around 2-3 months post-op. My symptoms included not being able to eat hardly anything. Everything made me feel full and nauseous. If I pushed it, then everything came back up. I couldn't even drink. I had another endoscopy and then I was put on Prevacid. It really helped me a lot. I do notice that the acid pumps in my stomach go crazy if I wait too long between meals and once that acid builds up, I know when I eat, I will throw up. It's a given.
I hope they are able to help your problem through medications and that you are on the mend soon.
