Went to the ER on thurs with 2 days of abdominal cramping and pain. was really worried that i was developing a bowel obstruction but the er dr thinks its my gallbladder. he gave me some bentyl to take for the cramping and a pain pill for the pain which helps as long as i keep taking it. gonna have a gb ultrasound thurs am. was wondering if anyone else has had any gb pain yet..if so what were your symptoms and have you had to have it out yet..if so how long after you were diagnosied did you have to get it removed. thanks for your help. Hey sorry to here your having pain. I just had my gallbladder out on April 14th. I was having pain since a month after my rny surgery. I was able to let it go till the pain was bad enough to bother me where I couldn't take it no more. My symptoms were pain on the right side just under my ribs like a stabbing pain that could last a bit, sick to my tummy, and tender abdomen. They did mine lap and I am pretty much better now just a little pain. I have heard alot of people say that gallbladder surgery is worse than rny but I had no problems with it at all. Good luck to you. Stephanie

Sorry to hear you're in pain. Make sure you're also consulting your RNY Doc, sometimes other Dr's who aren't familiar with RNY mis-diagnose... maybe not in your case, but at least give your surgeon's office a call so maybe they can work on it together. And don't forget to keep us informed!! Lots of love, Dawn 257/157/130?

Hi Barb, I just had my gall bladder out last month. Piece of cake (for me). Same day surgery, had it on a thursday and went shopping friday. My symptoms were different, I couldn't hold food down, but it took almost 3 months of testing before it was determined it was my gall bladder. My PCP sent me to a GI doc first, and finally I went back to see my WLS surgeon and he hit it right away. The recover is much less severe than the WLS. I was expecting most of the same pain from that surgery. Hopefully all will go well, you're in my thoughts. Chrissie
