HI.....I haven't posted in sooooo long here. Sarah you seem to be going at the same rate as me. My surgery date was 8/12/04. Starting weight was 320 lbs, gosh I hate to say it! Current weight is 182 lbs. I have just started eating like most post-ops. Its been alittle rough for me. But all is better now, and I am happy. Susan

Wow Katie, you're awesome! You're doing so well!!!!!! Here's my stats: Date of surgery: 08/03/04 Weight day of surgery: 257 Current weight: 160 Total lost since surgery: 97 Goal weight: 130 Pounds to goal: 30 Starting size clothing: 24 Current size clothing: 10-12 pants, shirts=L Starting shoe size: 9 Current shoe size: 8 I've had trouble lately with sweets... even WITH dumping! Since Easter actually... I'm working out a lot and trying to focus these next few weeks on protein and WATER!!!! Weight loss is incredibly slow now, but still good-- it's at a healthy rate now that doc's recommend in normal people, so I'll take that! I'd rather see it going that direction than the other any day!! Keep up the good work! Dawn 257/160/130

I'm glad to know we all hit that eating thing at the same time. I thought it was just me. I have had a voracious appetite for two weeks now. It seems I'm hungry all the time. And what a change from never being hungry for the past 6-7 months to always being hungry now. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Hi, I noticed when I hit the 7 mo mark that I was more hungry. I finally went to the bariatric eating.com and bought some of the low carb high protien things to eat. Not bad. I really like the peanut butter Power Crunch bars. That way I am satisfying my eating and still eating good. When I was at the store I am looking for more of the same. I found some South Beach Diet cereal bars that have 10 grms protien and only 9 impact carbs. I also found some low carb ice cream sandwiches. They only have 80 cals, 5 net carbs, 2 protien, and 2 sugars. They are good. I am also eating lots of strawberries. Berries are the best, low sugar and high vitamins. Good luck, Karin

Date of surgery: 8/11/04 Weight day of surgery: 295 Current weight: 185 Total lost since surgery: 110 Total lost since highest weight (if you lost weight for your program as a requirement):same Goal weight: 155 -- that would put my BMI at top end normal Pounds to goal: 30 Starting size in clothing:24 or 3X tops Current size in clothing: 12-14 pants; shirts M and Large Starting shoe size:9 wide Current shoe size:8 1/2 regular I too have struggled with snacking and grazing the past month or so. I'm really kicking up my water (a daily struggle to get 64 ounces) and I'm trying not to eat so much in the evenings. I really like the South Beach Diet bars (maple nut, yum), and the Quaker Q-Smart snacks (cheese flavor is best). you can have 47 in one serving. I also try to get one protein drink in every day. I've been eating more cottage cheese the last few weeks, and maybe that has helped to jump start my weight loss again. I actually exercise most every day, and who would believe it -- I like it. I was craving sweets, and kind of went overboard on sugarfree candy, so I've had to cut that out. Too bad when they operated on our stomachs, they couldn't have done surgery on our brains as well.
