I know it's late but how are you 8/3er's doing at 8 months out? I"m not loosing much weight pound wise but I'm loosing inches. I'm finally getting my engery back that so much insulin took away. Blood work was perfect. So how are you all doing? Hugs and prayers Bronda

Hey Bronda, Happy 8 month birthday! And congratulations on your success!!!! Today (04/07) I weighed in at 161, which is a 96 pound loss for me! Only 4 more to go until the century mark... YAY!!!! Of course I'd love to lose another 31 pounds, but that may be more a dream than anything. I'm definitely going to try! I'm only 7 pounds away from being "NORMAL". I work out 5-6 days a week for any where from 30-60 minutes per day. My favorite forms of exercise are pilates, my elliptical machine (like running kind of), and speed walking/jogging. Wow, what a great trip this has been! I definitely could never have done the exercise before!!!! Everyone keep up the good work! Lots of love, Dawn 257/161/130?

I am down 81 lbs and now weigh the same I did the day I graduated from High School. I am losing extremely slowly in my opinion but I have lost a ton of inches. I am trying to juggle work and family and getting in all my exercise. I walk two miles everyday at work plus 3 nights a week at the gym and one night of an outside exercise class. I am so ready for plastic surgery already. Unfortunatly I have been dealing with extreme fatigue and headaches. I get the feeling I am a bit anemic. Going to see the dr about it. Starting wt 281 Current wt 200 starting clothes size 22/24 or 2x now 14/16 depends on who makes it- XL( can pluck right off the rack) Don't need the W anymore shoes size is down to a 7 or 7 1/2 I had all my rings resized down to 6's and 7;s which is awsome. I can try on any ring in the jewlery store and it fits. My surgeon says 10lbs a month is great so if I can lose another 40 I will be happy as a clam then time for plastics. I'm doing pretty good...can't really complain. I'm down 105 lbs from 254 to 149. I'm 19 lbs from goal and 8 lbs from being "NORMAL". I've gone from a size 24/26 to a 6/8 and my diabetes is cured, my hypertension is cured, & my sleep apnea is cured! I would have to say that my only complaint is that I'm 6 weeks into my first plateau. I've been bouncing from 148-150 for what seems like forever. I realized that I was eating too many carbs and eating too often. So I'm going back to the protein and working my way down from snacking all the time to snacking 3x a day. I've done good with the 3 snacks a day...next week I'm going to reduce it to 2 snacks a day which is where my surgeon wants me to be. He wants me to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks. I go in again next month for my 9 month work up so I'll tell you then how my labs are. Kristy 254/149/130

I'm doing great! I'm down 102 lbs and have about 40-45 to go. It feels like I'm losing sooooo sloooowwwwllly these days, but I'm still losing about 8-10 lbs per month. I guess that's pretty good for 8 months out. I've been getting to the gym more lately, which is good. But everything's about to go topsy turvy on me. My family and I are moving to another city at the end of May. I HATE moving. Bleh. As I pac****ep asking myself how in the world we accumulatee so much crap in just 2 years?! But I guess it'll be good exercise, huh? The only other news with me lately is that I'm getting contacts for the first time since college. Woo-hoo! I'm so excited. They had to order special ones for me because I have astigmatism and a steep curvature to my eye. But I'll have them in a few days. ---- Leslie -102

Wow! You all are doing so well! Good Jobs!!!! I know I'm late, but better late than never, right? Since my RNY on 8/3, I've lost a total of 130 pounds. I did the calculations and that's 87.8% of the weight I want to lose. I have 18 more pounds until I reach my primary goal of 140. I definitely have more energy. I'm doing a lot of things I know I wouldn't have even considered had it not been for the WLS... I'm going out with the girls dancing at least once a month, I got a tattoo for my 30th birthday a few months ago, I am attending college for the first time EVER, and the main reason for the WLS, I'm finally get my hip replaced on 6/13! I used to barely fit into a 4x and I now wear large shirts! Bottoms that need buttoning up are 14's and 16's, yet things with elastic are mediums! The cool thing is, they're no where near to being stretched to capacity! They actually FIT! My chest has deflated from a 58EE to a 42D, but I still look good! I spent so many years wearing my clothes until they fell apart that while I am enjoying getting new clothes (mostly hand-me-downs), I am irked with it all. The biggest thing lately is that I had to replace 2 bras that cost me $30 a piece. They were only 4 months old! I really can't stand having to get different clothes when nothing is wrong with the old ones (except that they're too big). I know there was more I wanted to share, but I've drawn a blank. I'll be sure to be back on 5/3 to update!
