This is such a blessing to me. I'm amazed that this new way of living already feels normal. I don't miss the old ways as much as I thought I would. I still have major body image issues and have trouble seeing myself as others do, but I am beginning to feel the wonderful sensation of "normal." It's so nice to buy regular clothes and to know that I'm not automatically the heaviest person somewhere. That feeling, even more than the pounds lost, is incredible to me. I keep thinking that I still have 100+ lbs. to lose and am always shocked that I don't have so much. For so long, I've just wanted to weigh in the 100s and "only" have 50 or so to lose. Now that it's a reality, it's hard to break out of the old thought processes! Granted, weighing 188 at 5'1" is still too heavy, but it's a heckuva lot closer to where I should be than 290 was. Hooray!
Take care, friends,
Kathryn

Garsh i read your note about your legs and thought i have that problem sometimes at night not all the time but i have been going to a chiropractor which it took along time to find one i trust . But it really helps .I think something gets pinched or pressure on it . When my legs go numb it is really hard to turn over even because they are like dead weight so you try to flip yourself over.Usually once i move it starts to go away but if i go to the chiropractor then it doesn't happen for along time but it is scarry when it happens you feel paralized.Well hope you are doing better . Any other comments you want to add about your journey: I am loving this journey, despite being able to feel pretty much every pressure point when sitting or laying down. I am learning to dance - have learned that country swing dancing is a total blast! Still learning but loving it. I am a beautiful person - I was told this before but didn't realize it. I am more confidant than before, am having fun in life and learning to just LIVE!!! My surgeon and his staff are AWESOME! LOVE THEM! Thanks Northern Colorado Surgical Association & Dr. Pettine!
