I'm just curious. How many of you have had to buy all new shoes since WLS? I discovered at 4 ½ months, that my size 11's were getting way too big. I'm in a size 10 shoe now, what I wore before college. I can not believe it! So.....if you don't mind.... please let me know if this has happened to you? Old size = 11 M New size = 10 M ~Laura

Old size = 12WW New size = 11W Not a big change, but I need some new New Balance shoes and Birkenstock sandals. I like alot of support for my feet. In the meantime, I went to Payless to buy a pair of clogs and a pair of dress shoes.

Laura, I had to buy new shoes at 4 mos. out...I started out in an 11 M or W or a 10 WW and now I'm a 10M or a 9 1/2 medium (mostly sneakers in 9 1/2). I'm sure I will have to replace shoes again by the time this joruney is over! JUDY

Yes Yes Yes I haven't bought any new shoes, but if I tie my walking shoees any tighter the strings will break. Plus i keep tripping over my own feet!. I thought it was just me. Thanks for posting so I know I'm not alone in this......

Yep, me too! I went from a size 10W to a 8 1/2 which I suppose is good but now I have to buy all new shoes!! Oh well at least I have an excuse now for buying new shoes! Shelley -125

Isn't that funny??? Who would've known we had fat feet too for crying out loud???? Hee hee hee! I went from a 9 to an 8 so far... as far as I can remember, that's the smallest my feet have ever been. I bought a pair of knee high boots about 3 months after surgery, and had to get the "PLUS" width around the calf sizing... now I can't keep the darn things up! HA! I love it! Oh well, there's always next winter and more shoes to buy!!!! Keep it up girl, you're looking awesome! Dawn 257/165/?

Me too, me too!!!! I was an 11 in tennis shoes and a 11w or a 12 in heels, and now I am a 9 in tennies shoes and a 10 in heels. I almost died when I pulled out all of my sandals and none of them fit. Ugh. Good thing I didn't invest in expensive shoes. Thank God for Payless. Tiffany

Yep, and this is definetly one of the little perks of WLS. Size 8A from a 9-1/2D. My rings have all had to be sized as well. Who wanted to draw attention to the gunboats I wore pre-surgery? I've recently bought 11 or 12 pairs of new shoes. Now I have scandals in just about every color and three new pairs of sneakers. ~barb Lap RNY-103

I've gone from an 8W to a 7M. I expected the width to change, but I was surprised that the length changed. I think the arches flatten a bit with all the weight pressing down on them, which essentially makes the foot longer. Now our "springs" can spring up again, which makes our feet smaller. I don't think my feet will get any smaller. I was a 7M from the time I was in high school until sometime after my first child (which was also when I crossed into the morbidly obese category). So I think 7M is my "real" size. ---- Leslie -101
