The Almost-in-the-Century-Club Club

Okay, I know there are several of us here who are within a few pounds of joining the Century Club and are struggling with those last few pounds before our big milestone. How about we start an Almost-in-the-Century-Club Club (ACCC)?! The purpose would be to cheer each other on, share things that help us get the pounds moving again, and just create some specific support for those of us who are so close and yet so far from being 100 down. The condition would be that we have to be willing and able to cheer for each other, even when we feel "left behind" and bitter about it; and we have to be willing and able to stick around and keep cheering for others after we've made it to 100 and beyond. I think anyone who hasn't yet hit the Century Club should be able to join ACCC. And anyone who's already there can join as cheerleaders as well! What do you think? We can check in every week and see how things are going. If it's a bad idea or would make anyone feel bad for any reason, please say so! Otherwise, I hope it's something that others would think is helpful and encouraging. I know I'm getting awfully tired of being almost there but not quite. ---- Leslie -95

LOL! Thank you, Lynn!!!! That's exactly the idea. Lynn is our first official cheerleader for the ACCC! That makes you head cheerleader, Lynn. You have to sew all the skimpy costumes for the rest of the squad. ---- Leslie -95

Hi! I would love to join the club! The best way I found to cheer myself on is I was planning on buying a charm bracelet for my century mark, but once I got below 300, I couldn't resist! I even got the cutest charm I bought a little train to stand for "I think I can, I think I can...." Go everyone who is almost there! The greatest way to see it is "WOW! I've lost almost 100 pounds in 7 months!!!" YIPPEEEEEEEE! Have a great day! Becca 389/299/170 90 pounds down!

Welcome to the ACCC! You've been stuck a long time, Barb! But you'll get there!!! Those inches are moving, so I bet your body will settle in again soon to start dropping pounds. Maybe you'll just wake up one morning and be at 100 down. Wouldn't that be GREAT!? Just keep doing what you're doing. We'll be there soon!!! ---- Leslie -97

Hmmmm. I guess that's each person's individual call as to where you want to start. My pre-op consult weight happens to be my highest as well, so there's no confusion for me. I'd say that weight lost is weight lost, whether it's due to surgery or whatever. You worked for it. Take credit for those pounds, girl! CONGRATULATIONS on 100 lbs lost! You've done a fabulous job, and you're so close to goal! ---- Leslie -97

Hi Leslie! I'll join! Since my surgery on 8/11, I have lost 93 lbs; 7 lbs away from the century club! I guess I am kind of a member of the club, though, because I have lost 129 lbs since I started my surgeon's program. In January 2004, I weighed 268 lbs. But I pretty much only count the weight lost since surgery so it doesn't get confusing. Hugs, Denise highest (1/04)/day of surgery/current/goal 268/232/139/128 11 lbs until goal!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!
