How are you feeling?
Hey everyone!
It's been awhile since I last posted... it seems like life has somehow hit fast-forward and I can't quite keep up! So here's my ramble to catch everyone up on my life...
I've been in plateau mode for awhile now, and getting a little frustrated, but still keeping on track (mostly)... I really envy those of you who can honestly say you've never cheated. For me, resisting temptation (even with dumping as a guarantee afterwards) is pretty hard, although not as tough as before surgery.
My biggest accomplishment in the past two weeks is that I've woken up early (anywhere from 3am-5am depending on the day) and worked out FIRST before doing anything else. In the past 14 days, I've worked out 11 times! Pretty awesome, huh?
My work outs have either been 20 min Pilates + 20 min running on the elliptical machine, OR 35 minutes on the elliptical, OR a 45 minute speed walk to my son's daycare and back, pushing him in the stroller. Previously I've been sort of hit-or-miss about working out, so my new dedication to it has really made me proud.
So far I'm down 93 pounds and wearing a size 10 jeans!!!!!! I can't believe it! My family (who don't know I've had the surgery) says that they haven't seen me this small since high school!!! That was over 10 years ago!!! My hubby told me the other day that my body was HOT. HA!!!! Yeah, maybe if I had some plastic surgery... but that's got to wait until I lose around 30 more pounds and keep it off a year. Then my reward will be to get rid of all of this excess skin and flab. I weigh 164 now and I'm 5'6". Maybe my goal is too low of a weight, but I'm still shooting for it.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to graduation... yes, at 29 years of age I'm FINALLY going to graduate from college with a bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry. Funny since I'm actually in the mortgage business and looking to open my own company in early 2006. But at least I'm finally finishing what I started nearly 6 years ago... I can't wait... May 21st can't come soon enough!
Anyways, I know I've been rambling, thanks for reading. Keep up the good work everyone, you're all doing so well and looking so good!!!!
Dawn
Hi Dawn,
You should be really proud of your accomplishments. I also try to exercise in the morning. I go to the gym 4 days a week. When I get up on gym days, I put my gym clothes on so that I'm not tempted to skip it!
As for your goal, it is quite a bit lower than you would need to have a normal BMI. Do you realize that 10 more pounds and you will have a normal BMI? That is so awesome! So, continue to work hard, but don't forget to give yourself credit for how far you have already come.
As for your graduation- it is a day that I can't forget. My oldest daugher is getting married on May 21st.
I am feeling great. I am also down 93 pounds and need to lose another 90 to make a normal BMI (I am only 5'3"). I haven't weighed this little in 14 years. My 25th wedding anniversary is in June. I don't think I will make it to my wedding weight, but I will be closer that I have been in a long time.
Keep up the good work and good luck with finishing college.
Michelle
