8/16ers - 31 weeks
Hi all! Hope everyone had a fabulous week. I hit 100 lbs last week, but this morning I was up 2 lbs, so I'm sitting at 98 lbs. lost in 7 months. I'm hoping those last 2 come off soon, and stay off. I know I should be exercising, but I'm not. I know I need to start taking stock in what I'm eating, cause I'm finding that am eating more than I think I should, and when I do have my snacks, I eat stuff that I shouldn't. I don't want to fall into that habit again.
I'm starting a part time job some time next week, I will be working 1 or 2 nights per week, and on the weekends. Of all places to work, I'll be working at the deli counter of our neighborhood grocery store, although I'll be on my feet all the time, so I'm hoping that actually helps with the weight loss. $10 an hour, so I can beat that with a stick! Hopefully I won't be doing myself in energy wise.
Anyway...I'm sitting at 98 lbs. How did you do?

359/261/185? (I've revised my goal weight, so many people have told me that I need to be a little more realistic...so....76 lbs. to go to my goal, 52 lbs. til surgeon's goal)
Good morning,
I'm still at an 86 lb loss this week. But on the good side, I am running over 4 miles on the treadmill and getting in another 3-4 miles on the elliptical...all this on an average of 4-5 times a week.
My exercise is definitely making a huge difference with my weight loss. To be perfectly honest, I probably don't eat the things I should all the time but I offset that with the exercise.
On the subject of eating more...I was talking to a friend of mine that had this surgery about 1 1/2 years ago and she was saying there are still days when she can eat more than she could the day before, or even the day after. I could totally relate with that. My eating isn't out of control even though I do worry about it at times. For me that's a healthy fear to have, though.

Hey Judy....I saw your new pic, and it was great! You look fabulous!
Anyway, I am continuing to hang in there at -72 pounds. I think that the exercise DOES make a huge difference, and even if the weight isn't "melting" off like it did at first, it is still coming off....and the inches are really coming off!
In fact, I was able to get my husband to go clothes shopping with me Sunday (can you believe it?) and he picked out some flirty little skirts and tops for me to try on. We had fun (or at least I did), but the fact that he even stayed in the store for 5 minutes....really impressed me.
I am enjoying all the new shopping experiences. All of a sudden, I'm shopping at The Gap, and Old Navy, and Lane Bryant clothes are almost all too big now! Even at Old Navy, I am wearing 14's and 16's....where before I was way too big to wear ANYTHING they had to offer! (28's & 30's)
Still, I have about 50 pounds to go before making my (doctor's) goal, so I still have work to do. And, even after reaching my goal, it will take a lot of work for the rest of my life to KEEP IT OFF! (sigh) There is no magic to help us keep it off, right?
If you figure it out, let me know, OK? In the meantime, keep up the fabulous work.....you look marvelous!

Hi All
I had surgery 8/12/04 and as of this morning i am -139 pounds!! I can't eat that much, but get in my vitamins, protein everyday. I am now (for the last two months) lactose intolerant, so my food intake is really limited. I'm glad to see everyone doing so well, keep it up!!

Ok. I am not an 8/16'er, but I am close. I am a 8/20'er. I am stuck at 96 lbs down and I am not sure when the next few will come off.
My PCP put me on birth control pills (my cycles have been horrible since the surgery), and since then I seem hungrier than I used to be. I just started back with fitday.com. I need to keep track of what I am eating. In fact today I realized I ate 1,000 cals. I need to nip that in the bud.
I also have slacked off with the gym. I was going 3-4 times a week and I have not been in almost 3 weeks. Just too much drama with my mom, work and the kids. I really have to focus.
I am so glad I can come here and get the support I need and understanding from those who are in the same boat as me.
Take care.

I am down -96 lbs as of this morning. So I am now at 112lbs. Doc doesn't want me under 105 and is talking about putting me on suppliments. I will be having emergency surgery this coming monday to remove the cancer from my ovary and they decided to do a mini tummy tuck. Doc said that the surgery made my thyroid kick back into gear (since the meds never helped) and so my metabalism is high now. Good luck to everyone on their loss.
