From looking at the June and July message boards, it seems to be pretty common to stall out or slow waaaay down sometime after 6 months. I've been losing a couple fewer pounds each month for the past 2-3 months. Now it just seems to be crawling. I lose 6-10 lbs per month at this point (10 being the best case scenario). I've only lost about 3 lbs so far in March. I regularly go as long as 2-3 weeks with no significant loss. Right now, I'm at 97 lbs down, and the last 3 lbs to the Century Club seem like they're never going to go away! But I figure if I just keep doing what I'm supposed to do, it'll eventually come off. I'm calm for now, but I have yet to experience a true plateau (I think a plateau is 6 weeks or more with no weight change, or something like that). I'm very likely to freak out if I hit one of those. I don't want to stop losing with 50 lbs left to go. How long have you been stalled? ---- Leslie 282/185/135

Hey there, I just broke a 4 week plateau. I thought I was going to lose it if that darn scale didn't move. I have been working out more to train for a run that is coming up in my town and have been told repeatedly that muscle weighs more than fat. I started tae bo and that is when my plateau broke. Apparently Cardio is the way to go now for me. But I tried all the message board stuff with the extra water, only protien and it just made me discouraged to be honest. I took that test of percentage of body fat lost that was on the board last week and that lifted my spirits. 10lbs a month my surgeon says is normal and what to try to reach for but it seems to be getting harder. I just say slow and steady as she goes. Keep your chin up. Cheri

Don't fret. I have been at the exact same weight going on 5 weeks now. It is sooooooo frustrating and discouraging. I have tried increasing my work out and modifying my diet but only get discouraged when the scale doesn't move. It also seems like now I can eat outragous amounts of food so I have to be more careful with what I eat and how often I eat. I have lost inches while the weight has remained the same though. That is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I'm not giving up though. I'm only 25 lbs. away from my goal of 160 lbs. so I will continue to work towards that. Good luck LouLou

Oh Boy have I ever! I have been stalled for more than that. I stalled at one point for 10 weeks straight. always bouncing around 2-4 lbs. but never losing. I've only just recently moved a couple of pounds. I wish you all the luck in the world. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Lovey 309/238/172

Hi, I had my surgery on 08-23-2004, and i too stalled from Feb 1 to March 14 I did not lose anything, I kept going back and fourth losing and gaining the same 5 pounds, I was just wanting to reach the century club so bad, and I was stuck at 208 to 203, then finally on March 14, there it was 198, 100 pounds gone since surgery, total lost since highest weight was 125. now i am down to 195, so 103 pounds since surgery 7 months ago. not bad, but the past month and 1/2 I really thought was going to drive me crazy. i am now only 5 pounds away from being considered overweight, no longer obese, and definetely not morbidly obese anymore. My goal weight is 150, I just know this last 45 pounds is going to drive me totally crazy, but we can do it. We just have to believe and learn to deal with the times it seems, no more weight is coming off. We are all doing so well, just don't give up and it will come off. Good luck to all
