Meal Sizes at 6Months Post Op
I can now eat a container of yogurt.. what are they?... 6 oz.? I can also eat a full packet of instant oatmeal, but some days it's too much. I find it really depends on the day as to how much I can eat. Weird, huh?! I can typically eat 1/2 to almost 3/4 of a boneless skinless chicken breast (the frozen prepackaged kind). Sometimes I eat 4 or 5 bites and I'm stuffed. I eat 3 meals a day and one evening snack. For me, it really depends on the density of the food (ie. meat vs. soup) as to how much I can eat.
It really depends on what I'm eating as to how much I eat. I can eat about 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and be ok...other times I can eat almost an entire can of soup! :-8 Then again the only kind of soup I eat is the Campbells vegetable beef and the veggies mush down to pretty much nothing. Other times I can eat about 2-3oz of meat (steak or chicken) and about 1/3 of a baked potato and a few bites of veggies...sometimes I make the same amount and am done after eating only 1/2 that.
All in all I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day on average a day.

I eat three small meals and three small snacks a day.
Meals usually consist of soups or salads or tuna salad with crackers. Snacks are usually a piece of string cheese and some crackers. I keep dill pickles handy for emergency munchies! Also, I LOVE the Jello sugar-free puddings that come pre-made. They are devine!
I sometimes snack on popcorn but try to keep that only to once or twice a week. Sweet stuff (i.e. cookies, cake, ice cream) really make me sick and dizzy, so I almost always leave them alone.
But, amounts....about the same for the last several months. I would say a cup of Wendy's Chili and some crackers would really fill me up. At a sit-down dinner, I usually order a cup of coffee and a bowl of soup.
My EYES are always bigger than my pouch! So, I have to be careful when ordering entres at a restaurant! I either get a doggie bag to go or give it to my husband.....he always cleans my plate for me!
