Six months post-op now!
Hey, everyone!
Yesterday marked my six month anniversary! I am now down over 111 pounds and it is still going, slowly, but inexorably down.
I have had NO, I repeat, NO complications from my GBS. My bloodwork is perfect, blood pressure is fine and I am stronger and more fit every day, lol. I exercise, sleep good, take my multi-vitamin twice a day and because I exercise so much, I try to get 120 grams of protein in a day. I don't always get that much, but I always get the minimum of 80.
I am still running a lot. I run anywhere between 3-5 miles 4-5 times per week, depending on my mood. I am going to start using my Bowflex again when I get closer to my goal weight; only 25-30 more pounds to go!
Anywho, I may not remain side-effect free forever, but for now, everything is going so well, I can't believe it. Six months ago, I thought I was going to die a very sad, unhealthy and fat man. Now, I am free of the prison that my body had become.
My New Life revolves around itself, not food and for that, I am extremely grateful to my doctor, the nurses and the people of my support group. Most of all, God and my parents deserve a very special thank you. Without their guidance, love and support, none of this would have been possible.
Warm regards to all.
