8/16ers - 24 week check in!
Hi Ladies! How is everyone doing? This has been a somewhat ok week, I have only lost another 1.6 lbs. this week, but I guess it better than still going up, I'm now at 77.6 lbs lost, need to get back to that 84 lbs. lost....8 lbs. to go. This is SO frustrating.
I'm going back to basics today. I'm doing ALL protein, no processed carbs. I'm doing my EAS AdvantEdge shakes all day, throwing in 2 oz. of low fat cheese, and for dinner I'm going to have 2 oz. of chicken with a couple of brussel sprouts, and LOTS of water. I'm going to do this for a few days and see how it goes. I need to get this scale moving again in the RIGHT direction. I really hope I'm not done lose weight. If I went through this surgery and don't lose anymore weight I'm going to be super pissed off.
Hope everyone else had a much better week than I did!

(I have to get back to the 276 by next Monday or I'm going to SCREAM - and in fact I better be less than 276 by next Monday!!!!!)
Way to go Christie! I hope you are right! Looks like you are going to hit that 100 lbs. mark by our 6 month! I don't think I'm going to. That means I would have to lose 23 lbs. in the next 2 1/2 weeks, and I don't think that is likely. I'm still going to hope for 100 lbs. by my birthday, on Feb. 27th. I really hope I can do it!!! I'm really hoping that if I do the protein and no processed carbs over the next 2-3 days that it will make a HUGE difference!

Christie -
I think it just might happen! My plateau FINALLY broke! I'm lower this morning than I was before this whole up and down thing started! I have lost 7.6 lbs. since Monday. I would like to lose another 4.8 by Monday which will put me at a 90 lb. loss. I'm so excited!!!!!

-85.2 lbs!!!!
Christie, I made it!!!! I broke 276! As of this morning I hit 271. That is 10.4 lbs. since last Monday, and has me now at 88 lbs. lost! I'm hoping that today will be a GREAT day, and I am down another 2 tomorrow morning. I'm going to be doing protein protein protein today and water water water! I just might make that 100 lbs. by Feb. 16 our 6 month mark, that is another 12 lbs in 10 days, since I have lost 10.4 in the last week, it just might be possible!
Thanks for being so encouraging. Everyone on the Aug. board is AWESOME and doesn't try to bring me down like some people try to do on the main board.
Check in again tomorrow for our 25 week mark!
Take care!

Hi Judy (and everyone!) --
I'm holding at 165 this week. I kind of thought this would happen. It seems that everytime I reach a significant weight to me, I hold on it for a couple of weeks. I was at 185 for a month, so we'll see.
I have been really focused on eating to get rid of constipation this week, and this could be the reason for my stall. My surgeon's nurse told me to take colace, eat more fruit, and have a cup of popcorn every night. I had been doing the popcorn thing already, but have JUST started adding in fruit.
Also, this week I've found that I am not tolerating some milk products that used to be no problems for me - yogurt and cheese I am still fine with, but everything else is giving me a sick feeling. Ugh.
So, that's my week in a nutshell. More than anything, I just want to have a normal trip to the bathroom this week! Never thought I would say that in my life!
Hope everyone else is doing well - and may all your bathroom trips be pleasant ones (as pleasant as going to the bathroom can be...) -- can you tell I'm borderline obsessed with this??

Aimee,
I too was having this potty problem. When I called the Dr. to ask about it I was told to eat 2-3 dried prunes when I take my iron pill. I started doing that and am now regular. The prunes are high in sugar but the Dr. says we won't dump on them because they are natural sugars??
It worked for me,
Christie
Christie - Thank you SO much - I plan on buying some prunes first thing in the morning. My Dr's nurse suggested raisins and grapes, but the raisins haven't done ANYTHING so far. I have only dumped three times and all of them (I'm assuming) we're from Zoloft. It makes me so sick, it's scary. Other than an acid reflux-y response to dairy or too much food, I've been relatively dump-free (even on a bad day with some M&M's thrown in) - so I don't think prunes will be a problem.
I'm so long-winded sometimes, sorry! I really appreciate the advice - to go more than once a week is my goal, let's hope I can reach it
BTW Christie -- is your husband in the Air Force? Mine is, Tri-care has been so great for me! Take care everyone - sorry if I grossed anyone out with my bathroom issues!
