Five Month's Anniversary for 8/23
Hi, you bunch of losers!
I wanted to wish all of you well and see how we are doing.
I'm a bander and, of course, our numbers are a lot different, but I'm interest in how everyone is doing at the start of Month 5.
I managed to squeeze a double hernia repair along with my bariatric surgery recovery. My tummy is a literal battle ground of scars. I'm not a protein shake fan. The first round I tried gave me hives. At 4.5 months, I re-discovered Juice Plus and it's my protein drink of choice, but I only do one per day. I can get the rest of regular protein. I've lost at least 55 pounds.
My blog has been my mind's saving grace. I love the therapy I get through my musings.
I hope all of you who had surgery on August 23th are feeling great and on the path to wellness.

Francis,
Hello, you're doing great!!! I have lost a total of 65 pounds and a ton of inches. I've not lost any weight for 3 weeks and I'm starting to get bummed out!! I can eat anything and this is not always the best thing because I don't seem to dump on anything at all...EVER. I tend to snack more than I should and I know that this is hindering me a little with my weight loss. I do try and get all of my protein and water in everyday...and I take my vits religously.
Take care,
Kelli
Woohoo, Kelli, when I grow up I wanna be just like you!!!
I'm pretty bad about my vitamins and didn't do protein drinks until recently because of an early allergy to the first batch I tried.
I'm anemic and I need to find the right vitamin combination to get those numbers back up and hopefully, be able to get the weight numbers down some more.
Congrats on your 5-month report card.
Onward!
Frances
Hi Frances,
I am down 100 pounds at my 5 month post-op. I have been working my butt off literally. I have been taking some vitamins called optisource through Wallgreens. They are a chewable vitamin but taste like tang. They are good. Also I to have problems with my protien and I just bought some GNC Whey Protien powder. Every scoop has 21 grams of protien in it. You can add it to hot or cold stuff and you can't taste it at all. It does give a different texture to the food but it doesn't change the taste.
Keep up the good work.
Jonita
Jonita,
I'm really excited to see your awesome results. I appreciate the advise on Whey protein. Early on, I brought some Chocolate Natural Whey and that worked well for me because it wasn't pre-sweetened with chemicals (also known as toxic waste). I will look this unflavored whey powder.
Thanks for caring and sharing.
Onward!
