I feel like such a loser... in a bad way...

Wow... I come on here and see that everyone is loseing all this weight. WAY more then me. I've only lost 80 pounds since my surgery. I eat SOOOO much junk. I can't go to the gym due to my job. I work crazy hours and have no time for myself really. But each time I do go to work I bring my little podomiter thingy and check how far I walk in the course of just several hours. The least i've walked is 6 miles, the most is 13 miles. I feel like such a let down. I can't believe I haven't lost more. I started out at 330 and now I'm 250. I keep bounceing from one weight to another. (ex- 250 to 255, then 251 to 254) and it just goes on and on. I need to stop eating junk. I should only eat what I'm supposed to. It's my own fault. I've gotta lose at least another 80 pounds. I hope to lose 40 more pounds by June. (that's when I'm going to see my soon-to be in-laws. Yes, i've never met them before.) I better end this post. I just had to vent. ~A.C

Aliza, you're doing awesome! Don't feel bad about your loss, 80 is great for five months. I've lost 90 so far, and I am thrilled by the way I feel. I can walk and do things I couldn't do before. I fit into my clothes, as a matter of fact, I am running out of clothes to wear and shoes! I can't keep up with the need. It sounds to me like you are weighing yourself too often. I don't weigh myself more than once a week if that much. Put your scale in an out-of-the-way corner and don't look at it more than once a week. Set a date to look. Mine is in the laundry room on the other end of the house from my bathroom so I can't give in to temptation to look. What do you consider junk food? What are you eating? I have been eating crackers, which I probably should cut down on. I have also had corn chips occasionally but they make me feel bad. Isn't your "Queen pouch" ruling your eating? I know you can lose 40 by June. Just hang in there. You don't realize, you are only 20 pounds away from the century club! Yaaaaaaay! Karen

Aliza, We have the same surgery date, are close to the same starting weights (I was 338 lbs.), and I am down 84 lbs. I have 84 more pounds to lose. I think we are right on track. It has slowed down for now while our bodies adjust. Keep up all the walking, try to avoid the junk food, increase water, and I bet it starts up again. Don't be so hard on yourself, you are doing great!!! Christie

Okay, don't feel bad, I am at 74 lbs loss! I feel slow too! I get discouraged but then I realize, I can't help it. I am doing everything I can. I am following my plan...my body is on break! I read somewhere that for my weihgt, I should eat 2200 calories to maintain and 1600 to lose. Well, I am doing way less than that! It just takes time! You are doing fine! I

Aliza, I must be a loser too because my date was before yours and I have only lost 80 lbs as well. I have not been eating junk and I have been exercising some as well. Hang in there, I think that we are doing ok. I also think that if it just fell off of us, we would have way more loose skin. This is of course not a scientific opinion, just mine. Good luck with the weight loss. Saundra

Aliza you are doing great. I thinnk I reme, ber right after your surgery you posted on here that you regreted having this surgery. That was 80 pounds ago. In 5 months. Do you still regret having this surgery. I am sure you look like a new woman. I am am sure that your soon to be husband thinks so also. My husband tells me everyday that he feels like he won the jackpot. I know it is hard to stay away from the Junk food. I starting having snacking problems at 2 months out. I have stopped that now and work out alot more. I to had a crazy work schedule. I got these Walk away the pounds videos so that when I came home from work or before I go to work I can walk a mile or 2 in the privacy of my own home. Try to keep a positive attitude. You are doing great! I started this at 345 pounds the morning of surgery and I am down to 251. I have really been pushing myself. Someone told me that when I cheat I am only cheating myself from loosing the extra weight that I need to. Now I think about what that person said to me everytime I go to pick up the junk food. Make sure you keep protien and good foods with you. I carry a lunch box with me everywhere now. I snack on things like crab meat, string cheese, and vegatables. Our first 6 months is the time that we have to loose the most. It is almost up. So keep it up. We will get there. I still have another 100 pounds to loose. I know that I will do it and you will too. Yolanda, You look awesome! I went in and read your profile. Don't ever let your husband get you down. You aren't doing this for him. You are doing it for yourself. This is giving you your life back. Try and stay positive. I think you are doing a great job! Isn't it amazing the difference 60 pounds can make on a person. You will get to your goal! I have faith in you! Jonita

Wow! thank you all so much. I am feeling a bit better about myself. I'm trying to not eat as much now. Just small amounts of healthy food (though I should be doing that no matter what) I'm feeling a bit better now. I got some pictures to show my progress. The only pictures I have before my surgery are on normal film, not on my digital camera. I don't have a scanner either. Oh well. Here are the links to my pictures. I just hope they work. http://pictures.greatestjournal.com/userimg/3047650/292432 http://pictures.greatestjournal.com/userimg/3047656/292432 Thanks again everyone for caring as much as you all do. =3 ~AC

Aliza, I think 80 lbs. is teriffic, that's about what I've lost. Why do you think it's not good? Maybe you're feeling a little out of control w/ your eating. We all have not so perfect days. My weight loss has slowed dramatically. I worry all the time that this might be it and then I'll lose a lb. or two. Hang in there sweetie, you can do it. Besides, you're beautiful whether you lose another pound. barb
