This week's WOW moment?
Hi everyone - yup I decided to continue my post - I think it really helps us all to focus on the good things, right? I, for one, could really use it right now.
My WOW moment this week came when I was cleaning some pictures out of my computer and came across a picture I took when I was 300 pounds and was about to begin my first surgeon's diet. I knew I had pictures of me clothed, but had totally forgotten that we had also taken a picture of me in just a bra and panties.
It was then and there that I realized just how much weight I have really lost. I was about 300 pounds in that picture and I cried when I looked at it. Not sad tears, happy ones - I do not believe I will ever look that way again. I looked so unhappy, even my smile seemed strained. I look at the pictures of me now (I should be getting some new ones back tomorrow!! Poo on broken digital cameras!!) and I look happy with myself, happy to be in a picture, and much, much healthier.
The other thing, my husband hadn't seen that picture since it was taken, and HE started crying as well. I think he was in as much denial as I was about my weight getting to where it was. He kept telling me he was "so sorry" that he didn't help me more and that he was so proud of me. I felt so good, the most important person in my life loves me like that and was able to see through the layers of fat like they were invisible AND loved me then just as much as he does now, over 100 pounds lighter.
So, spill it guys! I loved reading what everyone had to say last week, every single thing was wonderful and I am SO proud of all of you. We're doing well, and regardless of if you are hitting a stall right now, are worried about what you're eating, are watching what looks like a barbie head full of hear swirl down the drain, are a slow loser, ANY of the things that are coming up at this point of our journey, remember to stay focused and stay positive. This is some advice that I really need to take myself! And I feel better already for having written this! (Long winded as it is!!)
Love you all!

Well, My WOW moment came on Sunday while washing dishes at my fiances house. While standing in the kitchen I looked over into the dining room there is a ceiling to floor mirrored wall. I was staring at this skinny lady in the mirror and commented "you are skinny" Now understand I'm not certified psychotic or a lunatic for that matter. People have been telling me this for sometime now "you are skinny" however, seeing myself as that skinny person shocked, pushed and kicked me into reality!!!! Okay so I now wear size 10 from a size 18/20 (5'2" tall or short) have lost a total of 67 pounds thus far and it was only on Sunday that I was WOWED!!!! Aimee, thanks for continuing this post!!! You should be PROUD of yourself. You've come a long way (we all have) and I thank you again for your support most of all for your love.

This week my WOW moment came when I saw my husbands aunt for the first time in like 2 years. She admitted that when she walked in the door to my mother in laws house (they live in Alaska and are down for their son's graduation from the Marines boot camp) and had no idea who I was! She had heard that I had the surgery and told me later that she figured if I gave her a hug than it was me.

Hello everyone,
This weeks wow moment for me great. I had bought a spaghetti strap, sparkly dress to take to Mexico with us 3 years ago and I didn't end up wearing it cause I was too self concious and it looked like there were two xmas hams on my backside. Well needless to say I tried it on last night and it looked great. I made my hubby take a picture of it on my digital so I can put it in my weight loss photo album.
I keep my fat pictures out to keep me motivated but it sure makes me feel good to see the new pictures that we have taken.
I am joining a new fitness club tonight, lets hope I can walk tomorrow.
I heard the trainer can be a beast......

This week's wow moment? Hmmm...there have been a few.
I usually take showers and decided to take a bath last night with the candles and the bubble bath, and after about 5 minutes, my behind hurt so bad I thought I was sitting on something. I WAS....my tailbone. I haven't felt that thing in years!
I also fit into my last pair of "skinny" jeans that I had packed away years ago...now I have no more "goal" pants to try to get into. This means that I am the thinnest I have been since high school and when I grow (shrink) out of these clothes, I will actually have to shop for smaller sizes!
And the last one for this week, I cleaned out my daughter's room and found a black ribbed turtleneck from Kohl's that she still had the tags on...it was a Medium, and I almost didn't try it on, but I did...it fit so nice and I just stood there staring in the mirror for about 10 minutes.
I still feel like the fat girl. I still feel 283 pounds, but I have to try to remind myself that I am not that girl anymore. I weigh 198 and wear a size 12 jeans and a medium sweater. I am so happy I could die! And to think, it is only 5 months out...where I might end up makes me nervous and excited all at the same time.
Good job everyone! Let's keep track of our wow moments for next week, it's so much fun to read them!

I had 2 wow moments this week....
On Monday a friend who had WLS in May came over. She brought me some of her old clothes. One thing was a long sweater jacket-type thing that was pretty. It was Mossimo size 3X, but I didn't know that at the time. I started out a size 6X in August and still haven't bought any new clothes yet. Anyways, I tried the sweater on Wednesday night and it fit. I was like, "Wooo-hooo! What size is this?" When I saw 3X I about fainted! My hubby was surprised, too. I haven't worn a 3X since I was a freshman in college (about 9 years ago!).
Then today at church I saw a friend I haven't seen in a while. I went to go say hi to her and she had to do a double take. She told me she almost didn't recognize me because my face had gotten so thin!
I am so happy!!!

I've been having so many WOW moments, it is so much fun. The best one so far happened last week. I have been in a wheel chair at home and on a scooter at my school (I am a teacher) for over a year due to my weight and arthritis in my knees. The scooter was very hard to deal with, the kids wouldn't leave it alone and I was always afraid someone would get hurt. I have lost so much weight and am able to walk now, so last week my husband came and took the "infernal machine" away! I was SO THRILLED to see it leave the building, never to return! I can walk all day now and when we walk the dog I have gone as far as a mile in one session. This from not being able to walk to the mailbox and back without agonizing pain. This summer we hit the hiking trail again. Praise God for this blessing.
