I posted this on main board but maybe some of you can help Hello, I am looking for help. For the past two days after I eat I get a pain. It not an unbearable pain, its like a tug. I had a open rny, so I will do my best to describe where the pain is. It is at the center , top, of my scar, so right below the breast bone. I know its not from overeating because I have done that a couple of times and this pain is different. I should not really call it a pain, its more of a nuisance. I am just a little concerned because I have not had any complications to speak of since my bowel obstruction. I am wondering if anyone has had this same thing and might know what it is.

My biggest problem is a pain from eating too fast. Still trying to teach myself to slow down. Usually I will get sore for about a half hour after I eat something that was either too greasy or I ate too fast. Try slowing down and experimenting with diff foods. You might want to ask your surgeon or nutritionist about it. Good luck Patty

HI Angie, I would be willing to bet you have an ulcer. Is the pain kind of a burning pain? Is it kind of sharp at times? Does it come and go? Does it happen after you eat or drink certain things? I have the same type of pain and for me, I notice it most when I drink coffee which I drink all day long. I take Prevacid as a precaution (all my surgeons patients take this) as well as Carafate in case it is an ulcer. I had problems with relfux right after surgery and the Carafate worked great. When I started getting this new pain, we tried the Carafate again and it works well. YOu should give your doctor a call and ask if he thinks you may have an ulcer. There are good treatments available and you don't want it to go undiagnosed or you could have problems. Hugs, Denise
