Thank you so much for the compliment on my hair. I have a story to go along with my hair in this picture. I was got married on December 6, 2003. I live in Baltimore, Maryland and it was the biggest and first snow of the year. My hairdresser was snowed in and I did my own hair for my wedding. I was crying at the mirror because I am not very good at doing my hair. So thank you so much for the compliment. As far as hair loss...........yes I have been losing my hair. Everytime I wash my hair I think to myself............this is it....... there is going to be a bald spot. But when I blow dry it, it always seems the same. I haven't noticed thinning or anything just hair loss in the shower. I hope it stays that way. Congrats on your weight loss! You are beautiful! --Marianne

What a great thread - everyone is doing WONDERFUL! Congratulations to EVERYONE! Here's me: Weight at consult: 300 This was at my first surgeon's consult. He wanted me to lose weight, I ended up having some medical problems which actually helped the weight loss, then moving (my husband is in the air force) so I had to find a new surgeon in a new state Weight the day of surgery: 245 Current weight: 173 Current height: 5'8" Current size in pants: 14's in misses and 16's in juniors Current size in shirts: L in misses & XL in juniors Body Type (apple, pear, etc): Definately and apple Thanks to everyone for sharing! I thought I'd join in too: Weight at consult: 330 Weight the day of surgery: 317 Current weight: 233 (-84) Current height: 5'5" (down from 5'5-1/2") Current size in pants: 24 (down from 32) Current size in shirts: XL (down from 30) Body Type (apple, pear, etc): apple I always go by my day of surgery weight, though if I went by my weight at consult, I'd be much closer to the 100 pound mark!! Oh well, I know I will get there. I like this post and all, but it also makes me a little sad, (sorry) because I feel like I have lost about the same as everyone else in weight but I am still in a 24 pant?? I am able to get the 22's on but I can't button them, soon I hope. I probably have more weight in my belly than others I guess? Oh well, I really am proud of myself though, and I'm extremely happy for everyone here too. I know it will happen for me eventually. Thanks for doing this. Tracie

Tracie--Just yesterday, I freaked out about this very issue (I seem to be wearing a much larger size than most others at a similar weight or even higher weight--5'3"/204 lbs/22W jeans). I calmed down because I realized I didn't know heights and body builds. I'm seeing from this poll that I am indeed a bit of an oddball, but not as much of an oddball as a thought. Also, I am not comfortable wearing tight clothes, so I am very likely wearing clothes that are a tad too large for me. Thanks for the poll, Denise! ---- Leslie

Well, I just had to post again. I realize that this was only posted a few days ago, but I had to say....I am in those 22's and I can button them and sit and feel very comfortable in them!! I'm not sure what happened in just a couple of days, I only lost 3.5 pounds since then, but I'm not complaining and I'll take it!!! So I am officially in a 22 jean!! Down from a 30/32. I have lost 87.5 pounds. Woo-Hoo!! Thanks again, Tracie

I saw that you posted the same poll to the main message board (read all those responses) and it got picked up on the TX board as well (read all those, too). Between the three boards, I'm seeing that just an inch or two in height can make a major difference in clothing sizes! There's a small handful of people who are about my height and weight who are somehow managing to wear a size or two smaller (could be that I'm wearing clothes loose and they're wearing them tight), but mostly I see that it's primarily differences in height--and to a lesser degree body build--that account for clothing sizes. I didn't realize that just an inch or two could make such a big difference. But it obviously does! Thanks again, Denise. I don't know if my little freak-out yesterday helped prompt you to do this poll, but it was well-timed for me. ---- Leslie 5'3" 282/204/135

Hi Denise, We've been doing this one on the Texas Board today too. It's a great help to know about heights! I am so glad you decided to do this. Here's my scoop: Weight at consult: 278 (had been 290 at highest) Weight the day of surgery: 274 Current weight: 214 Current height: 5'1" Current size in pants: 16-18 (had been 24-26) Current size in shirts: mostly XL (had been 3X) Body Type (apple, pear, etc): Pear for sure. Hope everyone is having a good day and getting back on track after the holidays. It was so reassuring to come back to the boards and see that lots of us August folks are having snacking issues of late, and the holidays didn't help things! We'll be fine though. God bless you all!
