How tall are you? And other stats

Hi everyone, I love the posts where we post our progress in terms of weight lost. I also love when people include what sizes they are now in. But I always, always wonder how tall they are. The reason being, if you have someone who is 5'8 but weighs 190, she would be in a much smaller size than someone who was 5'2 and weighed 190. And I always wonder if when people post what they have lost, are they including pre-op weight lost or just weight lost since surgery? With that said, would you all mind taking this poll? Weight at consult: Weight the day of surgery: Current weight: Current height: Current size in pants: Current size in shirts: Body Type (apple, pear, etc): Here are my answers: Weight at consult: 254 (November 03) then gained to 268 in two months...was on steriods for a weird allergic reaction and really gained weight from it. I did finally lose it, thank God. Weight the day of surgery:232 (thankfully lost 36 lbs, doctor had required a 20 lb loss before he would do surgery. He requires some weight loss from all patients) Current weight:160 lbs Current height: 5'3 Current size in pants: 12!! WOOHOO! I just bought 2 size 14 pants a week before Christmas and they are now too big, I can still get away with wearing them, but they are too big. I went to the mall today and tried on a pair if size 12 petite and they fit like a glove! perfect fit!!! Current size in shirts: Depends. I have some XL in misses and some L in misses. Body Type (apple, pear, etc): I honestly don't know! I have been told that my weight is pretty evenly distributed, so I don't know what to call myself. I do know that my hips and tummy appear to be the two areas in which I will have trouble with access skin, but overall, I think I am losing pretty evenly. I also have to say that my feet have shrunk. I used to be an 8 1/2 wide, but I can now wear an 8 regular, depending on the shoe. Curious to hear everyone elses stats! Hugs, Denise

Weight at consult: 276 Weight the day of surgery: 281 (and some change) Current weight:215 Current height:5 feet Current size in pants:18-20 (depends on pants) or XL (although I got in my brother's size Medium old navy pants) Current size in shirts:16-18 or XL Body Type (apple, pear, etc):Not sure...I've lost more of my weight in my top so now I would say pear. When I went to my 4 month checkup I had lost 60 pounds and the Dr. said I was perfectly on track and that you usually double your 4 month loss by 1 year (so that would be 160 pounds). I had lost 35% of my excess weight at that time. It occured to me then that you really have to look at what % of weight you've lost because someone taller may weigh more and lose more, but be at the same %. It helps me to not get discouraged by thinking I'm not doing good enough.

Great idea Denis! I've often wondered the same things so I'm glad you asked this question. Now my answers: Weight at consult: I weighed 217 at my consult and ended up going up to 227 before I began my preop diet. Weight the day of surgery: 216 due to losing 11 lbs on liquid diet Current weight: 155.4 (just this morning I was down another 2 lbs!) Current height: 5'2" Current size in pants: 14, but moving quickly into 12's Current size in shirts: Depends on the make and model, but mostly larges Body Type (apple, pear, etc): I don't know what my shape is considered, but I can say I have a waist now and I'm lovin' it. My feet have shrunk also, from 7 1/2 to 7.

Weight at consult: 256 Weight the day of surgery: 256 Current weight: 191 Current height: 5'0 (Shorty) Current size in pants: loose size 18 petite from New York and Company almost time for 16s (Can't wait!) Current size in shirts: XL from New York and Company Body Type (apple, pear, etc): I would say I carry my weight in my stomach and my arms. My legs always look to small for my body. Hopefully that will change with more weight loss. Can't wait to be where you are Denise! I have a ways to go! My weightloss has really slowed in the last month and I have stepped it up to try to maximize the weightloss. I am happy with the loss but fear I will stop losing. I am crazy --Marianne

Hi Marianne! I have to ask this...every time I see your picture, I drool over your hair. LOL! How are you doing as far as hair loss? Has this been a problem for you? For me, even before surgery I lost a lot of hair in the shower, when brushing, etc. My hair is long and very thick, but I have noticed it has thinned a bit within the past month. I am actually going on 1/14 to get it cut shoulder length (it is now almost to my butt!) and foiled. I need a change! Anyway, I just had to post to tell you that I love your hair and was curious if you had problems with it falling out. Hugs, Denise
