Hi everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I trust everyone had a safe and Happy Holiday! Well, this year, is actually the first year of my life that I will actually keep a New Year's Resolution. LOSE WEIGHT and EXERCISE MORE!!!! How fabulous is that! I did a little better this week, I lost some of that gain from last week, but still not where I was before the holidays kicked in, I'm back to 78.6 lbs. lost. I still have about 3 lbs. to get where I was before the holiday partying started, but I'm on the road back, which is more than I could have ever said in past years. Now that I have a smoothie maker I can get back to my protein drinks. My blender broke about a month ago and my protein intake has dropped significantly, and I know that is party of my weight stall problem. So back to the drawing board! Cutting back on the carbs, getting in more protein and WATER this week, and getting back to the gym to my Aqua Aerobics class. I did some shopping the Sunday after Christmas and discovered I went from a size 32 pants to a size 22 - WOO HOO!!!! I can get into a 22 top and some 18s or 20s depending on what it is, and I started out in a 30/32. This has been such an amazing ride! I can't wait to see where it takes me! How is everyone else doing? Have you had a gain or a plateau over the holidays? If so, what are you doing to get back on track? What is your total so far??? JUDY 359/278.8/282.4 -78.6 lbs!!! (I'm getting back on track!!!)

Hi Judy I'm so happy to hear that you are doing well. I did okay over the holidays, and I am THRILLED to report that after a month long stall, I have lost 2 pounds this week, taking me to a total of 72 pounds lost since surgery and 127 pounds lost since my surgeon's diet started !! YES, I am THRILLED with two pounds, I almost started crying when I saw the scale had finally moved. It was a really rough time for me, the plateau really freaked me out, but I'm better now As far as getting back on track, the thing I need to work on is not having a taste of my kids and husband's food. Now, mind you, for the first time in my life, it REALLY is just a taste, but still, I need to stop before it gets out of hand Can't wait to hear how all the other Aug 16 posties did! You take care Judy, and everyone else! Aimée 300/245/173/145

Hi Judy, It's good to hear that you are back on track. I think all of our old habits kick in at some point but we have this great tool now and are learning how to use it. The mind does certainly like to play tricks on us, huh? I had my surgery on 8/10. As of today, I am down 86 lbs and only have 14 lbs to goal. I am very excited about that. I still can't eat poultry (which used to be my favorite). I can eat lean beef and I eat a lot of veggie burgers or soy products. I noticed if I get off my routine then I start getting "mind hunger". I notice I can usually ward it off if I take a couple of deep breaths or do something to occupy my mind. I also get hungrier the more dehydrated I am. Anyway, good luck. Sorry for the rambling. ~Charis 255/169/?

Judy, I am glad your plateau broke. Those things really suck. The holidays were OK for me. I was tempted by a few bites here and there but not much. I also am back to basics. Protein, water, and exercise. I am down 80.5 lbs and working out like mad. I have noticed the weight loss slowing down since I added the weight training but my sizes are getting smaller very fast. Smaller is what I want, however, some recognition from the scale is nice also. Keep up the good work Judy. I always look forward to reading your posts. Christie

Hi Judy (and everyone else), I am down 70 lbs as of Saturday. I had been trying to lose that one lb. to get there for about a week so it was a glorious day when I saw it happened. Exercise has been, and will continue to be, a huge part of my life. I'm not so good about getting in protien but at the same time things seem to be going really well for me. T-

Hi everyone this is the first time I have posted here and I just wanted to wish eveyone a Happy/Weight Loss New Year. I have to say I love this site as I have no support here in the UK (Scotland). I seem to have slowed down with my weight loss lately maybe only 4 or 5lbs since my last weigh in 8/18. At least I did not gain over the holidays for the first time in years. Yeah 65lbs gone forever.
