UPDATE!! August 30, 2004 Surgery Date
Twelve days until Christmas Eve and I am down 67lbs! Oh, joy!!! I have more energy than before - most definately - in addition to this I am getting more protien in, FINALLY-it's definately a learning curve! Currently I can wear (depending on the maker and cut) jeans from size 18-20 (20 a bit loose) and shirts go from 18/20-22/24. I have noticed that most XXL's fit now where there wasn't even a chance before. Before surgery my 4x T-shirts were snug and 5x T-shirts a bit loose... my jeans were 26/28 Avenues and some Lane Bryant(stretch)....My biggest jeans were 30/32's...As for problems....not many have occurred! I have been blessed in this area....I guess my biggest problem was getting my vitamins in, that has changed....now my biggest problem is finding comfortable (inexpensive) bras that fit.
Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well...I am! Happy Holidays and Bless you all!
My update as well.
I've been stalling the last few weeks, but I'll not stress over it. Just happy to not be gaining over the holidays as was par for the course pre surgery!
Anyway, I've gone from size 2x shirts to Large....size 22 jeans to 14 and very close to fitting into my very old size 12's! Another 10 lbs should be perfect!

GoodMorning everyone! I hope you all had a good week, both physically and mentally. As the holidays approach us, we will be tempted with all the goodies that they have to offer. This period of time will pass, and we will have new joys to look forward to. I myself look at food differently. To me it is not my "best Friend" right now, and I hope it will never be again.
This past week I had a 4.5 pound weightloss for a total of 58.5 pounds. I had a goal for myself to lose 70 pounds by Xmas. If I reach it....wonderful, if not, I can touch it, and that is more than I had last year...I will take it!
You all have a great week, and Happy Holidays!

Hello fellow 8/30s! Here is my update:
I was one of the lucky ones! I've had to have two strictures dialated over the past month, but hopefully that is all behind me now. We'll see. As far as weight loss, I am at -64. Not bad considering I've been on a 3 week plateau. From reading the boards, it sounds common to hit a major plateau about now. I continue to work on getting in enough protein and fluids, but part of that was due to the strictures. I am back exercising daily now that I'm feeling better and hopefully the scale will move soon. Either way, I can really tell the inches have been changing for me recently. I am wearing a 2X vs. 4/5Xs! I went from 34W pants to a size 26. Major woohooo! I've even been able to remove the bra extender so my bra straps no longer fall off my shoulders
I guess I'm the sole lap band representative here. I've lost 42 lbs since my surgery on 8/31. Big milestone when I got weighed at Curves and didn't have to use the 200 pound weight. This last month I lost 13 pounds and 10 of it was body fat. I was more than thrilled. Wishing you all a terrific holiday season. Here's to staying true to our goals even though all that holiday food is lurking around every corner. Ho Ho Ho!
