hair is going going going!!!!
My hair has been falling and falling and i mean globs and globs of it.
I went to my hair dresser today to get a trim and color. My hair dresser was shocked to see how much hair came out after my wash. She was so worried she didnt color my hair . I been taking all my Vits and stuff. When will it stop falling????? Will i loose it all, or most of it. I am starting to worry. does this happent o everyone. on the 9th of dec i will be 4 months out.
Alma,
Well it's sure happening to me. I also went to get my hair cut, it was so long and with how much was falling out it was making a mess. My hair dresser was showing other stylist that I was "shedding". I had my hair colored and that didn't seem to affect it either way. I hear that it will stop between 6-9 months out. I've never heard of someone losing all of it, but my hair is thinning out. The biggest complaint that I have is all the little fly aways it causes at the top, if there is a light behind me it's really bad. I've that protien has a major effect on the hair loss, so make sure you are getting plenty.

Mine, too. Nobody seems to be able to notice it but me, though. I can mainly tell by the fact that I have to twist my ponytail bands around four times instead of three because my ponytail is so much smaller around than it used to be.
But I think it's been slowing down a little. I used to have to get 2-3 clumps of hair out of the shower drain during every shower to keep water from backing up. In the last few days I only have to pull out one clump at the end of the shower. I guess that's an improvement.
Anyway, I read a scientific study that said that the shock that causes our hair to fall out (the anesthesia followed by rapid weight loss) "killed" the hair weeks ago. By the time it falls out, it has already stopped growing and cannot be prevented from being shed. In other words, no hair loss products or even increased protein will stop it from falling out at this point--the thing that killed it already happened. Increased protein can, however, help your NEW hair to grow in more quickly, thicker, and healthier-looking than if you are not getting enough protein.
I wish I had kept the study to show you guys. It made perfect sense to me when I read it and helped me to stop worrying about trying to preserve my hair. It's done now and I can't prevent it. So I'm going to try to focus on getting my new hair to grow in thick and healthy.

Oh yeah. I am going bald. LOL...I was losing some hair even before surgery due to a thyroid issue, and once I got on some new meds, it was better. Then of course, this month my hair REALLY started coming out again. I use a thickening cream after I shower and by the time I rub that in my wet hair after the shower, I have a giant hairball on my hands. YUCK. I do notice some little hairs growing in at the top, sometimes I look like a little baby with my new hair sticking up, but if this hair loss would slow down, I would be one happy camper.
Slowly balding too,

I'm an 8/9'er as well and my hair started shedding a few weeks ago. I also went to get my hair cut and they said I really didn't need a cut and to use Hair Mayonaise, Carrot Oil, and Olive Oil for hot oil treatments. I have used the Hair Mayonaise and it will keep my hair from feeling like straw. I haven't had time to do the full treatment using a hot towel, etc... Anyway, mine is not coming out in clumps, but I am shedding everywhere and when I wash my hair it gets all stuck between my fingers. Quite a few strands come out, but I have very thick hair so it's not real noticeable. Someone e-mailed and said a vitamin Super Silica Plus (available at GNC I think) slowed down their hair loss. Hang in there....we'll all be bald together. (Just kidding! I don't think we'll go bald. )
