STRICTURES!
What on earth?! The past two and a half weeks have been a nightmare for me. I have had 3 endoscopys (tube down my throat into my pouch) and had to be dilated during two of them. The end of my pouch was nearly sealed over with scar tissue. I have been vomiting and unable to even keep up on my fluids, so I've also been in for IVs twice. The first time they dilated me, I still had vomiting the next day so they re-scoped me and found an ulcer circling the area where they had done the dilitation. As of today, things are much better, but please say a little prayer that this stops and I don't have to deal with this issue at least for a little while.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? How many times did you have to be dilated before the scar tissue stayed away?
I had a stricture in early October and had to have it dilated a couple of times. I'm told strictures happen in about 15% of gastric bypass patients. Everything seems to be working OK now, and I'm starting to eat more regular foods.
