Wedding Bands and Shoes!

Help! My wedding bands are so loose on my hands that they shake and clatter all day long! My diamonds sink underneath my hands and I don't even enjoy wearing the set, whi*****ludes a nice anniversary band. Does someone know of a device that I could buy to hold all the rings together, snug against my ever-shrinking finger? I've never had this problem before---quite the opposite. I had all my bands sized up when I gained the weight 13 years ago...or so. When I've lost all the weight I want to lose, I plan to have my rings completely resized---permanently. But until that time, I need a good temporary solution. Also....I've lost a whole shoe size. I've gone from an 11M to a 10M. I never wore less than a 10M at my thinnest in high school, so I think I'm done in the foot department, at least. In addition to having to buy a whole new clothing wardrobe, my shoe wardrobe is also in a state of transition! Anyone else having these kinds of shrinking problems? Well....maybe not a real "problem," but I would appreciate your tips. ~Laura

Yeah, I was wearing my favorite pair of slides the other day to church. As I walked down the stairs my shoe flew off my foot and landed at the bottom of the stairs! I love slides and none of them fit any more at all. I was a 11W before and now I'm a 10.5M or 11M. What a problem to have! I do know about the ring guards. We used to get them for our patients when I worked in a nursing home back in high school. Back then you could get them at the dime store. Now, I don't even know of any dime stores! Maybe you could call around to some of your jewelers and tell them about the problems. They were make out of soft translucent plasctc or silicone and slipped around the palm side of the ring. Good luck!

Laura, Easy fixes to annonying problems. Purchase ring guards at any jewlery store they will size you to make sure it's not slipping. Purchase new shoes that's always fun. Marcia

Marcia, when we get together to do that shopping in NYC, we can hit all the cute shoe boutiques like Carrie shops at on Sex and the City! (LOL) I love being tall....I'm about 5' 8"....but I actually was a little taller in high school...before being obese caused my spine to "settle" a little bit. I actually used to have a big fatty hump on my back, but my husband says it's gone! (Yea!) Maybe some shoes with a little heel height will give me that extra lift that I used to enjoy! I like shopping at ShoeStation in Montgomery. It's like a "shoe heaven!" It's nice to have an obsession that's not all about "food!" (Ha! Ha!) ~Laura

I was having the same problem with my wedding ring. My husband ended up buying me a silver band to wear until I am ready to get my ring sized. This was about 2 months ago. NOW I am wearing my pinky ring on my wedding finger and the band he bought doesn't fit anywhere, I never would have thought I would have come close to that Ring guards are good as long as they are plastic (I used to work at a jewelry store) - If you get the metal kind they can damage your ring so that the gold will have to be reinforced later. My wedding ring is in a safe now, waiting until I feel I'm at a consistant size! As for shoes, I'm still in a size 10, but I'm also wearing thicker socks these days as my feet are cold ALL the time, could be they are shrinking and I just don't know it Good luck - and congrats on your progress! Thanks, Aimee! My feet and hands seem to be cold all the time too. I don't think it's a circulation problem, though. I am getting more exercise now than I have ever before. I wonder if anyone else is having the cold hands and feet problems? ~Laura

I always USED to be too hot and sweaty all the time. It's just relative, you know? I'm having hte same problem with rings and shoes! I was wearing a size 7W and now all my shoes are falling off of me. I went to Goodwill today and bought a few pairs of shoes, and the outlet store near me has really inexpensive designer shoes. I'm talking like 7.99 or so! I got a pair of hand painted pumps today size 6 for 4.99. I can deal with that. I will be buying ring guards soon, too. Waiting to April or May to get my rings sized and reset, though, so I won't have to do it again. Rather have to deal with this problem, though, than when I was sizing and re-setting them when I was going UP the scale! Yeesh!

i went to walmart and got a pack of ring sizers... they are clear and cheap and they have different sizes, so while you are losing weight you can adjust to a different sizer... comes in handy i think.... i think the pack cost me $2.
