8/17'ers, Your 3 mo. check-in is here!
Hey all you 8/17'ers! Doesn't it seem like just a short time ago we were all nervous about this surgery and how it would "change" us?
And now we really are all changed!
Today, exactly 3 months out, I am down 46 pounds---but best of all, I am down 12 pants sizes! I've gone from a 28 to a 16 and feel absolutely great!
I had my 3-mo. checkup with my doctor's PA (and my best friend since elementary school) last week. She was so happy to see me! We hugged and talked for what seemed like forever! She gave me my first B12 shot and we talked about some things....standard stuff. I got an "A+" from her on all that I've been doing.
I am wondering how the rest of you are doing? I know others have lost more "weight" than me, but are you losing inches too? I am not losing as fast on the "top" as I am on the bottom. My hips and thighs are literally "melting" away! (Regular Curves workouts may be contributing to this.)
I did recently get a couple of new bras, though. And I did buy some smaller shirts last weekend. I'm down from a 3X to a regular XL in many sizes.....but in some stores, the 2XL and 3XL's still fit fine. Hummmm....
Anyone else have any good news to share?

Haven't had my 3 month checkup so won't have a official weight loss for two more weeks I am officially down 25 lbs at one month and I dont think the scale has moved much since then refuse to buy one until after my 3 months check up. I've probably lost less than you a wild guess of 40 lbs. But I'm going through clothes like crazy so I'm sure the inches lost are crazy too. Will measure myself today. Was in 22/24 pants and the old 18's are fitting. Still wearing my 30/32 shirts though. This could be a head thing trying to catch up with body thing.
So happy to hear of your success

ps. what does your menu look like
Great news, Jackie! Good luck with your 3-mo. check up in a couple of weeks. I bet you'll be totally blown away by your results.
I have weighed every day since my surgery. It is a morning routine I have, and I find some comfort in it. I don't get too blue over the scales not moving in a few days, but I do get excited when they start back in the downward direction!
My daily menu varies, and I just try to eat small meals----at least 3 a day with a few snacks. In fact, I seem to eat more often now....since the WLS....than ever before!
Breakfast usually consists of a protein drink or a diet Minute Maid and some peanut butter crackers or chicken salad with a few crackers.
Mid-morning snack is usually crackers or a piece of string cheese.
Lunch is usually a salad (with meat) and a diet Minute Maid or water.
Afternoon snack (if I eat it) is crackers or a piece of string cheese....or protein bar, if I'm craving anything sweet.
Dinner is a smaller version of whatever I ate before surgery. I like the small frozen meals or a can of soup. I rarely eat bread anymore. If I eat a "sandwich," it is usually meat and crackers.
Late night snack is popcorn or crackers with peanut butter. Oh, and more diet Minute Maid (and maybe a splash of orange juice.)
I drink liquids all day long, by the way. Diet soda doesn't excite me so much anymore, so I leave it alone for the most part.
By the end of the day, I'm at about 1000 calories and 50 grams of protein. I watch that closely. I also take two vitamins and Viactive calcium chewables daily (morning and evening.)
Plus! I work out at Curves 3 - 4 times a week. That is helpful.
Hope this "menu" helps.

I am a 8/20, but close enough. I don't have my next check up until next month, but by my home scale I have lost approx. 60 lbs (I have been fluctuating 3-4 lbs).
I would probably do better if I was consistant about exercising. I just have not been able to get into a routine. Between work, kids, house and hubby, I have been lucky to be able to get any time alone. I plan on joining the Y after the first of the year (work will pay for half then), but for now it i**** and miss with the walking.
Take care
Alicia
