Hi! Sorry I don't have a picture to post yet, but I'll get it!! My surgery was August 4 and I've lost 70 pounds so far. I'm diabetic and was insulin resistant, so this much weight loss has made a big difference in the amount of insulin that I have to take (almost none now!) yeah! I'm feeling SO much better....no more pain in my legs or hip, my hands and arms don't fall asleep at night, and I just have so much more energy. And of course, there's the clothing thing!!! I was really lucky to have a neighbor who gave me a ton of her old "skinnier" clothes and I've been living in them. For some reason I'm losing top sizes faster than pant sizes (I'll chalk that up to a c-section a couple of years ago!) I'm able to eat just about anything unless it's too dry. That hurts! I just don't have much of an appetite right now (when I mentioned that to my doctor he said, "Mary Ann, that's what you paid for!") LOL! I guess he's right!! My biggest problem right now is hair loss. Boy, it's just not slowing down. I had thinish hair to begin with and now I have a significant loss! I'm trying to get as much protein as I can and I'm taking biotin. Can anyone suggest anything else? When will it slow down?!?!? That's all I need... I'll be the skinny bald chick!!! LOL! I'm not sure why I waited so long to join but glad I did....I love reading all your posts!!! It really encourages me! Thanks for that! :0) Mary Ann

Hi Debra! Thanks for the welcome! My weight loss has slowed down the last two weeks too. I seemed to hit a plateau at 50 and 70 pounds. So I guess all I can do is try to give myself a kickstart I'm trying to change the kind of exercise I do. I have two little ones at home (nearly 4 and 18 months) so I don't have much time during the day! How are you doing? Have you had any problems to speak of? Yep, it really is nice to have other people to talk to! Thank you! :0) Mary Ann

Welcome, welcome, welcome. I'm so happy to read about other August post-ops. I've lost 55 lbs and I feel like I'm almost at a crawl right now. I'm also hungry a lot. I feel like I'm taking in more calories than I should-about 900-1200 calories a day. I don't think I'm having the hairloss yet. ~Congrats on your great success. ~barb

Hi Barb! Thanks for your message! It does my heart good to hear about other success stories! You've done great! I sure know what you mean about the weight loss slowing tho. This plateau is a killer! I'm bad....not counting calories at all! I should be! I don't actually feel hungry but I was a compulsive eater for 42 years and that doesn't go away! It's a struggle some days. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones and won't have any hair loss! You've got beautiful hair! I'm jealous!!! Congrats on your success too!! Mary Ann
