My hair stylist is very educated about WLS. Her mother went through it...as well as her co-worker! She knew just the right time to mention it to me, and she recommended I try Nioxin shampoo. My stylist also recommends Nioxin for her clients who are going through chemotherapy. She says it really makes a difference. My hair is colored regularly and naturally straight and thin, but I have a lot of it. However, that doesn't mean it hasn't started coming out some since my surgery on 8/17/04. I am trying to keep what I have, and my stylist says that this shampoo will really help. I paid about $19 for a big bottle of the stuff. You can ask your hairstylist about it. They probably sell it at your salon, or you can find it online somewhere. Go to Nioxin's website for more information: http://www.nioxin.com/women/index.cfm Best of luck to everyone! Keep your hair! Lose the weight! ~Laura in Alabama

Laura, Did you purchase in a health and beauty supply store or from your stylist? Marcia

Marcia, I bought my bottle of Nioxin shampoo from my stylist. They sell the Nioxin line of products at the salon where I get my hair cut. You can also find Nioxin products on eBay. Here's a link: http://search.ebay.com/Nioxin_W0QQsokeywordredirectZ1QQfromZR8 (I hope this link works!) Anyway....you won't save much money purchasing it on eBay. I would stay with a local salon, in case you are not satisfied with the product and want to get your money back. Most salons guarantee their products. You could ask at a local beauty supply store...like a Sally's....but I don't know if they sell Nioxin products. Let me know if they do. If anyone can find Nioxin shampoo cheaper than $19 for a 16.9 oz. bottle, let me know! ~Laura

Sally's sells a comparable product, Nutri-Ox, for about half that price. I have been using it since before Aug 27 surgery and so far I'm not losing hair. I also take two Wal-mart Biotin tablets each day for skin and hair. Take care, Iris -46

Thank you, Iris! I will try Nutri-Ox after my Nioxin runs out. I am all for saving money! ~Laura
