8/23-week 10! How are you doing?
Amber here again!!!
It's now week 10! How's everyone doing?
I have lost 64 pounds and a whole lotta inches. Mostly from the waist up! My weight loss is starting to slow down, though. But I just got clearance to start light activity. So now I can do walking, and non-aerobic type things. But they said take it easy.
Anyways, hope everyone is well! Talk to ya soon!

Hey Amber,
I am doing pretty well. My weight loss has slown down also. I am down 72 pounds and it has sorta plateaued. I am ready to start working out now I am feeling back to myself except for tenderness in my incision. Sometimes when I lift things I get a sharp pain along one side of my incision. I am still really burnt out on all the things I ate immediately post-op. Eggs, bacon, chicken breast, crystal lite, tuna, etc... I am trying to find new foods to try to avoid boredom. I ate a mini snickers on Halloween so I feel pretty bad about it but I am proud of myself for stopping, realizing the mistake , and making a promise to myself that it doesn't taste as good as it feels to get on the scale and see it is lower than before. So overall I am good. I did realize one thing though. I can't really get drunk anymore. I have drank a couple times since surgery and I get a buzz feeling for about 4 minutes then I am sober again. I don't want to try to push my limit so I just give up and enjoy the evening sober. I just thought that was weird cause I read about post-ops getting trashed off two glasses of wine. Well I could go on forever but I will cut it short there and say congrats to you on your weightloss!!!!
wow you guys are doing great, i have lost 55 lbs and lots of inches, i am down 4 sizes but my loss has slowed alot, i have been so busy with my kids and all that i haven't had much time to work out and i get maf at myself because of it. I feel great though and everytime someone new notices my loss it is a great feeling. Not really having much trouble with food just not interested in it any more...which is a totally new thing for me!!! i have 17 more lbs to go to be in the 100's which is my next goal for myself, seems like it is taking forever to get there though. I am glad to hear you all are doing so well, keep up the good work. Barb
Hello, I'm new to this board, but find it very interesting to hear from those who are experiencing the same timeline as mine. My surgery was on Aug 27 and I am so happy with the results. Getting off the meds was the best of all. Of course, the 46 pounds gone is awesome. I have only lost four of those in the last month and am very discouraged. My Dr is one of those who says don't eat until you are hungry and frowns on protein supplements, says as long as you take the vitamins and eat at least 4 oz of food a day you will be fine. I usually average 2 4 oz meals (mostly protein) a day since I seldom get hungry. I did use a supplement this morning and plan to try out the rest of my samples and see if I lose any while on them. I haven't started regular exercise yet and I know that would make a difference. I don't have any problems and everyday is a great one since the surgery. Best of luck to all of you! Iris
Hi Amber! Congratulations on your lose sounds like your doing wonderful. Went to the Dr. yesterday and I'm down 57 pounds, couldn't believe it. I can actually cross my legs now. Been walking and thats about it for excercise but I joined a gym that has a pool and they open in 2 weeks, can't wait. Is this not the most unbelivable journey you have ever been on. I thank God everday for watching over me and giving me the chance to better my life. Food wise I'm eating chicken, fish, and pork in very small quantities but have not had any problems as of yet. Getting alot of my protein from the GNC ready made myoplex drinks, Yum! I really like the cafe' carmel and double chocolate fudge. It has 25 grams per 11oz. they are really good. Well congratulations to all of us losers out there and lets keep up the good work. Thanks Becky, Open RNY 8/23
Hi, everyone! My lap rny was done 8/24/04. I'm down about 57 lbs. and feeling good. The nausea has gone away completely and I healed very fast from the incisions, since I had lap.
I've been walking sporadically lately, since the weather here in the midwest is getting colder. But today I joined Curves. I hope to be able to go 3x a week, while my son is in preschool. I live in a smaller town and the atmosphere is really laid back there.
I surprised myself today by going once around the circuit and not getting winded! How they heck did that happen?!
