Post Op ULCERS,
8 weeks post op- RNY.
Hi I was just wondering how many have had problems with Post op Ulcers at the anastamosis, ( where they join the intestine to the pouch).
It seems that I have had just about every complication one could have. ... post op blood clots and obstruction, that needed a second emergancy surgery, Low blood pressure, fever and a blood transfussion. and that was all in the first three days The once home, I could not get warm, had a lot of pain. It was so intence one night I had to go to the ER cause it fealt like a heart attack. The ER DOC said something was irritating my diaphram.
About 8 days ago, I had another upper GI and that was normal. So the next step was an Endoscopic evaluation. They foun a very tight strictuer and was able to dialate that. They also found a very nasty looking ulcer along the area where the intestines are attached to the pouch.
From my research ( on the web) it says that both of these complications are in less than 15 %. I guess with these odds againt me. I will not be heading to Las Vages any thime too soon!
