Stopped Loosing!
I also have hit the platuea at about 6 weeks post op. I asked the Dr. and this is normal. What I have found is I will lose inches than pounds. don't be hard on yourself if the scale is not going down it will catch up to the the inches you are losing. About exercising... Be careful don't cut your calorie intake too much. Muscle takes more calories than fat and you could be doing serious damage if you do not feed the muscles and you are working out on a regular basis. Muscle also weighs more than fat so as fat burns and muscle is developed you may gain wt for awhile. Start looking at measurements. you will notice a change there and in muscle tone but not in wt lose. For those who are not exercising on a regular basis, if the Dr. has OKed you to exercise, please start. The surgery is a tool not an answer. Don't let old habits take over. I realize it is hard to stay on track. I would love to go home and lay on the couch and watch TV. Go for it!!!
I was trying on clothes today and found I have loss inches. Oh happy days! Thinning out the large sizes so I can buy a couple smaller things. One dress that did not fit last week, now fits. A straight skirt one that is! So the inches are going.
As far as excerise, the doctor said walking, treadmill and upper body with 3 lbs weights and some machines. I am not a daily person but do get in some each week.
Dear Marla,
(Sigh)....same thing here. I have weighed the same for two weeks, and I can't stand it.
But, I did treat myself (kind of) to trying on clothes today at my local Wal-Mart. Just 2 months ago, I was wearing a size 28, and now I'm buying 16's! WOW!
I know I'm losing the inches, if not the pounds right now.....because I have the proof! In fact, I've had to GIVE AWAY all my fat clothes! Yea!
See if this doesn't help you to at least feel a little better as your work through your plateau. I am frustrated too, so you're in good company.
Good luck to us all!

Hello to all...my name is Robyn and I'm new to the group. I too have stopped..had my surgery 8/6....have lost 56lbs and no more in the past 2 weeks. Stuck at 220! Aaargh! I am in need of a regular excercise routine..but old habits are hard to break. I never did much of it and now is no different. I can't get my water down...so ironic as I used to drink 3 64 oz cups a DAY prior to surgery. I find some days I either drink and not eat..or vice versa. For me to get the water in..i basically can't eat. Eating holds little joy these days....which I guess is a good thing overall! I am starting the treadmill at the YMCA tomorrow and hoping the godforsaken scale will move. However, yesterday I went shopping and found I am in 18/20 WOW! Haven't seen that in 10 yrs or more, since before childbearing! I guess we didn't get heavy overnight, so we won't get thin that way either, but Lord it's hard to be patient!
Glad to be here, I need the help!
Thanks everyone!
Robyn
I was only 3 weeks out and quit losing for a little over two weeks. I nearly panicked and thought I'd done all of this for 20 some pounds. It turns out my nurse said that your body is adjusting to the weight loss and although I wasn't losing pounds I was losing inches during that time. Turns out they knew what they were talking about. At only 8 weeks out I've been on another plateau for almost a week, but I know I need to kick up the exercise too. Don't panic like I did. You're "reshaping" right now
