Stopped Loosing!
Marla,
I was going up and down the same 5 lbs for about 2 weeks, and it was SOOOO frustrating!!! My diet was pretty good, but I decided to up my protein intake anyway. I increased my protein by adding in an extra protein drink/shake in every morning. Plus, I started to exercise regularly. In one week I dropped the 5 lbs I kept going up and down plus another 6 lbs. for a total of 11 lbs. WOO HOO! The exercising I am getting in isn't a lot, but it has helped tremendously. I go to the gym and do the treadmill for 20 minutes and then use a couple of weight training machines, I do that twice a week. I also go one more time a week and take an Aqua Aerobics class.
Maybe if you upped your protein just a little bit, and tried to be better about the exercise, maybe the scale will start moving again!
Good Luck!

-53 lbs! WOO HOO!!!
Congrats on your weight loss.
I will increase my protein. The shakes are UGH tasting. Drank an Akins tonight. All I could do to get it down.
I was going to Y 3-4 times a week and walking on treadmill. Will get back to it. I find I just will not walk, so treadmill is best way to go. Also did the upper body machines.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I don't mind my shakes. I use Unjury Vanilla, Choc., and Unflavored. The chocolate tastes like a Nesquick. You can get them at www.unjury.com
Good Luck in your exercise quest!!!

I had my surgery on 8/13. Last week, after a very long two week stretch of gaining and losing two pounds, I finally started consistently losing again. I know for sure I was losing inches at the time I wasn't seeing the scale move. Jeans I bought three weeks ago which were tight are now loose! I've read posts where people have said that when they begin to add carbs back into their diet they've seen a slow down until the body adjusts. This could have been true for me, since I added things like crackers and WOW tortilla chips in just before I plateaued. The one thing I did (not sure if it made a difference or not) is I added a protein shake back in to my diet at least every other day, which boosted my protein intake up to around 70-80 grams. Hang in there!
