Ok I am seeing this post a few days later...... As of tonight my scale is reading 249.5 which is great I started at 310 on my Doc's Scale (my scale read 3 pounds lighter) so if I haven't confused you enough..... Let's just say -58.6 in 12 or 13 weeks I don't keep up with weeks any longer, I switched to months . (surgery date 8/5/04) I'm 33, and started in size 28/30 and now down too 24 which are big... probally a size 22 pants, but don't have any and refuse to buy any. In shirts I started at a tight 3x and yesterday bought a xl. (a little tight but hoping by next week it will be fine, friends says, it fits me now, I am just not use to wearing clothes that fit ) Hope everyone is doing well. As far as food I can eat pretty much anything... haven't tried fried food, eating healthy stuff. But I know I dump on sugar, when I try to drink a no suger carnation instant breakfast (11g sugar acohol) I get very shakey, So I haven't even temped fate pasted that!!!!! Karen 310/249.5/165

Hey Everyone! Not doing too bad here. I managed to take my meds all week which was a big accomplishment for me (I hadn't had them regularly since my EGD on 8/30)! I plan to get on the protein shakes in the next few days. As of 10/19 I have lost 63 pounds. BMI has went from 51.0 to 39.9! I've gotten a few hand-me-downs from friends and was totally tickled to comfortably get into a pair of 18/20 capris instead of 26/28! I wore a 26/28 - 28/30 shirt and now I feel good in a 22/24. It doesn't have that "painted on" feeling. I grabbed a new pack of undies (size 10) a few weeks ago that are a little small, but I think it's better than getting a 12 that would fit good now only to have the back end of them sagging in a month or so! *LOL* I've been meaning to go to the health club, but started babysitting a 3 year old and 1 year old girl, 3 days a week. Exercise is something I definitely need to work on. I haven't done any at all. My main concerns are my abdomen and thighs. They're getting pretty flabby. I can't handle white meats anymore. So no turkey or chicken breast for me. Beef (like roast) isn't very good to me either. Lately, my main meat source has been stuff with hamburger in it, as well as some cheeses. Tonight's dinner was 1/2 an order of chili from Wendy's. It seems like it's been forever since I actually had something with *taste*, so I really enjoyed it! Overall, sounds like everyone is doing pretty well. Congrats to all of us!

Hi Debra! Great post!! My lap rny was done on August 4, 2004. I have lost 71 pounds as of yesterday and I feel FANTASTIC!!! No fatigue, no pain, just lots of energy!!! I drink a protein shake in the morning to give me 30-35 grams of protein, then I have tuna salad or chicken salad for lunch, a protein bar around 3:00 p.m. or so, and then whatever for dinner. I do make sure to get at least 64 ounces of water in and TRY! to go to curves 3 times a week. I have just started walking in the evenings as the weather is so beautiful right now. I am so happy that our August group is doing so well and that we are keeping up on each other. Let's continue to do this as we are all in this journey together!!! Blessings, Rachel T. -71
