What can you eat?
I love tuna, I will have to try that again soon. For some reason seafood doesnt agree with me anymore. I was a scaredy cat too about trying new foods but since my sister had surgery in March she was a great help about getting me started on reg foods and has been a help to me along the whole way.
Thanks for the reply

Hi Patricia!
We are only a few days apart. I am on my surgeon's stage four, which means protein first always, then if you have room veggies, then if you still have room, limited carbs. I am also allowed fruits but because I struggle so much with protein, I haven't even tried any fruit yet.
On a good day, my menu looks like this:
B: protein shake
L: slice of ham, slice of cheese
S: yogurt (atkins...12 grams protein!)
D: grilled chicken
S: Yogurt again or turkey pepperoni (yum! Doesn't taste a thing like turkey, or I wouldn't eat it! Tastes exactly like the real thing!)
I also try to get another shake in if my protein isn't at 60 grams.
I also eat: all types of cheeses, noodle-free lasagna, stir-fry (made with chicken), turkey sausage (same as the pepperoni...you would never know if was a turkey product), yogurts, eggs (don't like them much since surgery), had low sugar baked beans once...really good!, etc.
I am not allowed red meat yet and I am craving it! I can't wait to have a steak and I really hope I can tolerate it!
Hugs,
Denise
I havent tried steak yet but I find chicken easy to eat. My sister cant eat chicken at all yet and shes 8 months post op. I have been lucky to find a protien drink I really like. I usually base all my meals around protien and eat that first too. Hard to do that all the time without alot of repitition though and I do miss my carbs lol.

Are you drinking all your water? Lean Cuisine also has a lot of sodium, so it might be causing some water retention. If you are not getting in at least 64oz. of water each day that could be part of the problem. However, I had surgery on 8/16 and I was up and down the same 5 lbs for about 2 weeks, I finally lost that 5 lbs plus 1.5 lbs. over the weekend.
I increased my protein intake quite a bit, and finally started to exercise.
You might just be at a stage where it stops and your body is catching up.
Good Luck!

I usually get about 50 oz of fluids a day or at least try to, lol. I don't worry too much abou****er retention because I take a water pill everyday. I think I do need to increase the protien though I have a hard time getting that in. I hope its just catching up, I am counting on being down 75 pounds by xmas.
Thanks for the reply.

Patty, glad your doing great!! You seem to be eating more than me,I have been lactose intolerant but it is inproving some and I pretty much can eat anything. I just can't get it together and I really don't want to eat much. I'm drinking the Unjury Choc to get my protein in for sure and by the time I get the water in the day has passed so I eat maybe two times but at least once, but what you say makes sense. I battled with 5 pounds for 3 wks up and down and now as of Sunday I lost it and 4 more for a total of 65lbs!My doctor's office said that was normal our bodies have to catch up with the changes!! I think I will start on some LC meals for lunch. Thanks!!
Keep up the good work and god bless Linda
I've always had a healthy appetite unfortunately. I think the hardest part is getting all the water in. You have done great, 65 pounds in such a short time is wonderful. I think I have to give up being a scale slave, its too depressing, maybe a once a month weigh in would be better.
Thanks for your reply.
