Am I the only one getting a little obsessed?

I am noticing lately that I can't stop thinking about this weight loss. I bought some high heels the other day and I wore them out. It was the first time I didn't feel like a rhino on stilts. lol. I am wanting to buy all new clothes now that my clothes are too big. Once something is too big I don't ever want to wear it again. I keep looking at my face in the mirror because it is starting to look so different. My DH mentioned he thinks I might be obsessing a little bit over this whole thing. I told him I feel like I am bringing my old self back to life day by day and I am so excited about it that I don't care if he thinks I am obsessing. For the first time in years I have hope of living an exciting, happy life. Are any of you starting to experience this?

The obsessing part I can totally relate with. All I think about is this weightloss. I am driving everyone I know crazy with it. Although I feel like the weight is not coming off quick enough. I am still wearing the same clothes. It is so frustrating. I keep thinking about how much I am going to lose by christmas. I am also afraid that it is going to stop working. Keep up the good Work! You are beautiful! --Marianne 256/220/130

I agree with you. That is exactly how I am feeling. This isn't working for me and will I ever reach my goal weight?

Hi Shelli.. Nope, you're not the only one... I can relate to what you're going thru.. Well mostly! I'm a guy so I don't buy high heels, nor will I ever (unless they're a Christmas/B-day gift for my wife).. But I know how you feel. The other day I found some "old" work uniforms from several years back. They were several sizes smaller than what I wore to work immediately before surgery. Of course they were still in perfect condition because I would order my uniforms and by the time I got them they were too small already. But the other day I tried them on.. They fit! Though they were a bit snug (snug enough that I probably won't were them quite yet because when I bend over I don't wanna worry about ripping out the butt..lol) but I was so excited. So much I had to stand there in front of the mirror in my newly fitting work uniforms and think "Dang I look good!" Of course I am very modest, but seeing me actually wear those clothes, bigging slightly snug but NOT skin tight and me looking closer to "normal".. I was impressed! Don't worry about your surgery not working.. it will! (unless you MAKE it not work!) I think we are all very fortunate to live in the days where bariatric surgery is an option Congrats on your loss so far.. you already look wonderful! -Mike 271/236/170

I am having the same problem as Marianne. My clothes are more loose, but still the same clothes. I totally obsess about it! I can't wait to go back to an amusement park next spring. And I obsess about new clothes alot! I got a blood clot, so I am not allowed to exercise right now. As soon as I do, hopefully the weight will drop off quicker. *~Amber~* 510/475/under 200

I'm wearing almost all the same clothes after losing 50 lbs. as well, but it's because almost everything I own has elastic waists or is loose and flowy. I found some denim shorts I haven't been able to wear in a couple of years in a drawer. They fit perfectly when I put them on last week, but they were already getting loose by the time I washed them and put them on again today! So I can see size changes in clothes that are less "forgiving." Though I'm looking forward to buying new clothes, I'm actually trying to make my current wardrobe work for as long as possible. I'm resistant to buying anything else in a plus-size! I think I'm going to have to, but I just don't want to spend any more money on what I consider "fat" clothes; I'm mentally finished with plus sizes (even though I still have a long way to go before I can physically say goodbye to them). I have developed a serious resentment for Lane Bryant and other plus-size clothing makers for how much they charge and for having to order from a catalog (there are no plus-size specialty stores in my town), never knowing how the clothes will actually look on me since they use "normal" size models. I made myself some beaded jacket clips to cinch the waists of my loose dresses and blouses, and I'll take in the elastic of my pants and shorts when I need to. At some point, though, it's all just going to look too sloppy and I'll have to break down and get something. Some of my blouses already have a tendency to slip off one shoulder, and I can't take in some of my nicer slacks. The main things I already can't deal with being too big are workout clothes (including swimsuits) and underwear. Can't have one's panties falling off in the grocery store!!!! ---- Leslie 5'3" 282/232/135 (97 to go!)

I think its really healthy to have that kind of attitude. It will give you the drive you need to be successful at this. I find that I keep looking in the mirror at my face and noticing the changes. My face is alot thinner now but I can see some wrinkles that used to be hidden too, lol. I also enjoy the feeling of how clothes that used to be a bit tight are now starting to feel loose. Patty
