Have any of you heard, after the first quick paced loss (I lost 40 pounds in 7 weeks) what do most people settle down to? Do you think 2- 4 pounds a week????? I have a stupid scale in the house and no matter how much I try to avoid the siren's call, I find myself on it every morning. And watching itmove so S*L*O*W*L*Y is frustrating me to no end. I thought of ditching it, but my husband bought it. In his backward thinking, he thought it would be a nice present for me when I came home from the hospital. He's cute but dense, and doesn't understand ANYTHING about the obsessive-compulsive personality! LOL! I think I'll keep him anyway!

Check out www.thinnerself.com Bruce also had wls and created the website to answer just that question. You can plot your loss to see if you are losing slow (me) or fast. He also has other useful info and it is free for anyone to use. This morning I shoved my stupid scale onto its side and put it in a corner. good luck in your journey Terrie

Go to http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/postopplanner.phtml and put in your numbers. It'll give you a handy-dandy graph of what you might expect in your weight loss over the coming months. It's based on averages, though, so don't get upset (like I did) if you're "behind" according to what it shows. My understanding is that (depending on where you started) you'll lose 20 lbs or more for each of the first 2 months, then 10-15 lbs per month for a few months. The closer you get to goal, the slower it will go, until you're just losing 2-5 pounds in an entire month (or nothing at all for long stretches of time). Those who weighed more to start with will lose more quickly at first. As for the scale, I weigh every day and I enjoy doing so. I can't see the changes in my mirror, so the scale and my measuring tape are what keep me focused. ---- Leslie 5'3" 282/236/135 (100 to go!)

i own a scale that has a cruel sense of humour. It's up and down all the time. I've started trying not to weigh myself everyday as it gets very frustrating. I could be up 6 pounds one day and down 8 the next. From everything I've read I think depending on how much you need to lose 2 to 4 pounds a week seems to be the average after you start on a full diet. Im down 49 or 47 since Aug. 9th depending on my scales mood. Patty

Don't feel bad...I weigh every day too. I tend to stay the same for a few days and then boom...loose a few. For the last 3-4 days I was stuck at 190-191.5-192 then this morning...188.5. So as long as it doesn't stay the same for like a week I don't trip on it. I will be 10 weeks out tomorrow and have lost 59.5 lbs! Kristy 248/188.5/140

I LOST 51 POUNDS AT 6 WEEKS CHECK UP. I NOW REFUSE TO GET ON A SCALE. I WILL WEIGH ONE TIME A MONTH. I WAS WONDERING THE SAMETHING. HOW MUCH SHOULD WE LOSE EACH WEEK. A MALE CO-WORKER SAID "I THINK MY FRIEND LOST 100 POUNDS THE FIRST 2 WEEKS". YEA, MEN CAN BE DENSE. IF WE CONTINUE TO LOOSE EVEN VERY SLOWLY, WE ARE ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS.
