Vomiting
I am almost 7 weeks post op and having a problem with vomiting. I don't do it everyday, but it is quite frequent. The doc isn't concerned because I can get some things down. I know a couple of times, I just ate too fast. Also, when can I have a BLT or a cheeseburger. I have been craving them for some time.
Well, how are you eating? Remember the key is to eat slow and chew till pulp. What are you eating? Are you watching the sugar content? At times this is alot to remember but we have to do it, kinda stick with things you know won't make you sick and try something new every other day...Try a turkey burger first and then if that goes well try boiling the hamburger for the cheeseburger.

Really when they say small, they mean SMALL. And chew until it becomes MUSH in your mouth. You shouldn't feel ANY texture to your food at all when it starts to pass the place in the back of your mouth where the swallow reflex begins. It should be the texture of baby food when you start to swallow. Count your chews. Get to twenty every time. Take 20 minutes or more to finish less than 2 oz of protein.
Do that and try the cheeseburger (not roll) now. You should finish between 1/4 to 1/2 a small cheeseburger that way.
I haven't had ANY probs with vomiting or anything and I have been eating meat, sausage, everything from about week 3-4.
Good luck and hope you don't have any more vomiting. That must be terribly uspetting every time you eat.
Another thing to consider... do you lay down after eating? I vomited once after doing that. Also, do you think you might be eating too much? That got me once. Maybe it's the sugar or fat content. I throw up if I eat fatty food. One more thing.... are you just now progressing to more solid foods? Maybe you have intollerances to some food.
There are lots of possible reasons. I'd call your doctor back and discuss it more.

for almost 2 weeks I was throwing up everything that went into my mouth, even water. that got doc to worrying and i have to have the camera ran down my throat and have my esophagus stretched and unblocked. It all started with a boiled peanut skin and then i couldnt keep anything down. after i had the procedure done that i felt much better but even still i throw up on a daily basis. soups are the main thing that i can keep down, pig skins and believe it or not i can keep down cheese curls. i am drinking slimfast carb diet drinks ( 1 gram sugar and 20 grams protein)
i miss my diet pepsis but i will probably never have them again and so far i cannot keep hardly any meats down if i eat it alone.
