surgery date was 8-30-04 UPDATE
ok, today is 10-7-04 roughly 5 weeks out. Weight now 250 even.....out of curiosity checked the BMI counter here and am down from 47.8 to Your BMI is 41.6 !! to me, that is a wowzer!
I am very happy, first my energy is getting much better....however, still not getting enough protien w/o help of protien drinks. I am also finding that I can only drink tap water w/lemon or v8, many other drinks are WAY too sweet now...including many crystal lights. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to pass them on.
I was talking to a friend the other day that had the surgery as well, she's 1 year out and in the century club too. She made the comment that geez sandra you're sure gonna be pretty w/all that weight gone....I just looked at her and said, I already am but thank you. She was so upset w/herself for making a comment like that because it irritates her that people treat her differently since she's lost her weight. Then she realized that she is starting to do it also and she is now trying to "remember" what it was like before surgery so that she can remember "where she came from" Does anyone have any ideas so that I can help her to not feel so bad?
Other that that all else is pretty much grand, Salmon still my fav food...but milk no longer fav drink.
I've notice that a lot of people forget what it's like to be newly post-op after they've lost a lot of their weight. My sister is like that for one, drives me crazy. I pretty much just remind her that she was where I am before, but that's my sister, I'm not sure if I would be so forthcoming with a friend BUT, you're GORGEOUS now, were before and will be after. You go girl!
As far as drinks, I find that plain water with a bunch of ice is my favorite "sipping" thing. I also like Propel and for the occasional treat I'll have Arizona diet green tea. I also can't handle a lot of the crystal lights because of the sweetness. I didn't realize my tastebuds would change so dramatically!
Keep up the great work!
Aimée
