Arby's Roastbeef- BIG mistake!

Well, I'm 6 weeks post-op. I was out-and-about a few days ago and didn't bring any lunch with me so I had to try to be creative with a fast-food solution. Then it hit me (I am getting sick of grilled chicken!) so why not try Arby's roastbeef. They don't put anything on the sandwich and all I throw away is the bread. Cool, right? WRONG!!! I didn't stop to consider how much fat was actually in the roast beef. I was just thinking of condiments, etc. I dumped for the first time ever. Boy was I miserable for a few hours. Moral of the story: I will never forget to consider the protein itself again. And for any of you who haven't tried Arby's roastbeef yet, you may want to give it a few more months. I know I will!!! Good luck, hugs - Christine

Christine, I'm sorry you had such a problem, Arby's roast beef was one of the 1st beef products I've had and luckily I didn't have a problem.. but if there is alot of fat in them, I won't have another one. Thanks for the info. Natalie

Hahaha! Looks like I was in a no-win situation! I was going for my post-op appt last week (2 hours from home) and I didn't pack a lunch, either. So after leaving my doctor's the two closest things we could find were Arby's and McD's. So I said, "I might be able to handle the chicken nuggets at McD's." Well, I ate three of them and ended up barfing on the way home, several times! Too much fat, I guess. But seeing your story made me feel better! I guess I would have gotten sick either way! Thanks for sharing! *~Amber~*

I made the same mistake also. I was thinking that I would be able to handle the beef-n-chedder because the meat is so tender. WRONG...no matter how much I chewed and chewed it still got stuck. I won't be going down that road again anytime soon. Nancy

I just take some of the meat from my children's sandwiches. Suits me fine. Of course, I chew til it's practically, no, it IS . . . MUSh, so by time it gets to my stomach it's a puree. LOL.

I had the Arby's Beef 'N Cheddar when I was about 4.5-5 weeks out and had no problems. When you ordered your sandwich did you order it without the Arby's sauce? I wonder if that is what made you sick. I ordered mine with no sauce and extra cheese...yummy. Kristy 248/188.5/140
