incision

when I was 7 days out I had that penrose (small straw like tube removed) I was told that I would leak for a few more weeks Well, this incision is always leaking. today it feels very hard and it was burning It looks like it stopped leaking but now I think there is puss underneath I see the Dr on Tuesday. could this be an infection did this happen to anyone? when did your stop leaking? I had lap RNY

If it looks like puss get in to be seen now. Same thing happened to me and they had to open my incision back up and I am almost 6 weeks out and it is still open. It is better to be safe than sorry as they say. Good luck to you. Stephanie

Call your surgeon now, do not wait until Tuesday. I had leaking that began 5 days after surgery and leaked profusely for 3 days (had to use sanitary pads to soak it up) but my surgical team asked how I felt, did I have a temp etc. Once it stopped leaking it was very hard but no burning or discomfort. So please call them and they will help you determine if you should wait or not. good luck

If you have not already CALL your surgeon and let them know what is going on. I hope it heals up quickly for you. I too had a infection and just now just getting closed up. Good luck ! Chatty

Puss is almost always a definite sign of infection! Get that checked asap! Good luck! Joy
