Question - Fit Day
Hello everyone... I was wondering if anyone who had surgery in Aug. is using fitday.com to help keep track of what they eat???
I am not sure how much of the fat, calories, carbs, and all that stuff we should be getting a day... Can someone help??
I do get my protien in a day 30 - 50 grams a day is all my dr. requires.
The site is pretty neat you can log your walking, excersise and food and even your weight to chart it.... pretty neat...
Thanks
Debra

I really only log the calories and protien. I am trying to get up to 800 cals a day but that seems impossible. I usually go anywhere from 500 - 750. The nutritionist told me our aim should be 1000 - 1200 but that it would take awhile to be able to do that. I don't track my carbs but I do make sure I limit them.

I'm using fitday as well and so far have only be able to get 600 calories a day. I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday and he said that was fine as long as I am getting in enough protien and water, and all my vitamins. My favorite part of fitday is the graph that shows you your weight loss over time. Even after only losing a little bit, it was nice to see that red bar go down. It's never a bad idea to keep track of what you're eating (imo) -- and fit day is a great tool for that!
You're doing great, btw!

speaking of fitday.com---i just came form logging in my food from today and yesterday...my nutritionist requires me to keep track of everything, down to the water i drink on fitday.com....it has a lot of EXTRAS that i just played around with...i think its a great tool that anyone who's had the surgery should use...IT'S FREE!!!
it only saves 20 days so be careful when you reach your 20th day....i print mine out weekly and keep them in a notebook...

Hi Debra, I tried to use FitDay, but I couldn't get it all figured out and I gave up. I do much better just wrting things down and figuring out the protein grams in the amounts I am eating. I don't have to count calories
or fat grams or grams of carbs. Protein and liquids are important to me now,I count those, and as long as I limit my carbs and fats per my doctor's program and do some kind of exercise daily(walking for me), I am doing fine. I liked the FitDay site and I may go back to it later. Things are a little hectic for me right now. Good Luck!
