Hi All - Had my surgery August 19th and have lost about 30 pounds. Im having major problems taking the vitamins though. My Dr. suggested chewable Centrum and some Calcium thing, but they are really chalky and disgusting, I can barely keep them down. What are all of you trying? Also, do you take them in the morning or evening? What time is better? I feel soooo nauseus in the morning I'm afraid to take them then, and at night I'm so tired I sometimes forget

Centrum Chewables really are nasty.. I started with them and couldn't even finish the bottle. After about a week, if I had one more Centrum I felt like I was going to puke! (Yuk).. Now I take Flinstone "complete" vitamins... they are MUCH better! My doctor has me taking 4 a day for the first 6-8 weeks until I am eating sufficiant foods so I can get more nutrition from food and then I will only need two a day. I also take 4 tums a day for calcium. Remember the flintstones have Iron and Iron and calcium don't mix well together so you can't take your vitamins and calcium at the same time. Here's how I do it: When I get up in the morning (around 10 am) I take two Flintstones around 2PM I take two Tums around 6PM I take two more Flintstones before bed I take two more tums Remember, there should be at LEAST three hours between your vitamins (with iron) and your calcium. Also it's best not to take all your vitamins at once. Spread them out thru the day like I do. And above all, find something you like. Do NOT skip your vitamins at all. They are so important to our health. If you stop taking them you will probably get sick and you don't want that! Good luck... what ever you take, just make sure it provides ALL the vitamins you need!

I'm taking 2 Flintstones chewables a day. I hate them too! I usually take them in the morning and then eat something soon after to get the taste out of my mouth. If I take them at night, it seems like that chalkiness just stays in my mouth all night long and I wake up with it and YUCK! I've heard that OptiSource chewables are much better, but they're quite expensive ($25 for a month's supply) and can only be purchased online.

HI.. At my last support meeting before my surgery , they had all kinds of samples. One of the samples was of a spray vitamin... It is called Vitamist. I love it. It tastes great. You just spray 8 sprays in your mouth each day. 4 on each cheek. The container lasts for 30 days. I have not run out yet so I have not had to buy anymore... They do have a website. Vitamist.com.. just put the www in front.. The last time I looked at the website they said that Wal Mart carries it.. I have not looked yet. I like them because there is no chewing and they do not take up space in my pouch..

Oh my gosh I am having same problem. I can get the vits kids chewable down, but the calcium is another thing. I was breaking them up, which worked OK. Crushing had me throwing them up. I bought some off web that are flavored, which are good. Only problem is cost. I need to find a cheaper one that tastes good.

Hey all! I get my vitamins on-line at usbariatric.com. They have chewable calcium, multi-vitamin and Co-enzyme q 10. They actually taste pretty good. In fact, instead of the ol' popcorn I would get a movie, I take my vitamins and water and I make myself think I am eating candy.
