What does a normal menu look like for you 6 weekers??? DO you eat 3 times a day or more? How much water?

I eat things with protein in them - tuna, chicken, beans. I also eat a lot of yogurt, string cheese. I have been venturing out and trying some fruits like watermelon, peaches, apricots. I eat about 5 times a day. Water at first I was having no problems drinking it until lately. But I am getting in at the minimum 64oz. Hope this helps, Lisa

MT, Just want to say sorry for the beating you took on the main board. That is why I hardly ever post! I too have had a fry here or there. I think it is more realistic that way. Anyway, as to what I am eating now. I pretty much normal. I get my protien in first, then if I have room I will do vegatables. It seems all of our surgeons are different. I still have a hard time with the water. I do more crystal light. I have gotten away from the all day small meals. I have to remind myself to eat. I have not lost as much as some, but I was not as big as some. As of today I am down 28 lbs. I could have never done that before. Good Luck to you...

I'm really struggling to get variety into my protein and to get my protein and calories up to the protocol. I haven't been able to tolerate chicken or ground beef yet, unless they're in soups. Can't tolerate pastas at all. I eat six mini-meals a day. My daily fluid intake is about 48 oz (still working on this!) These are typical menu items for me: - vegetarian refried beans with cheese melted on top with a couple of WOW tortilla chips - peanut butter with a graham cracker - Wendy's chili (1/2 serving of a small) - lite yogurt - 2% cheese with Carr's crackers with garlic & herbs - mozarella string cheese - deli smoked turkey or ham - baked or broiled fish (sometimes it works, sometimes not) I have been frustrated with the monotony of my food selections and have felt very limited because of the intolerance for most meats. I talked to my dietician today and she suggested a few new things to try to add protein and calories and more variety. I'm so glad I called her! By the way, while I've been struggling with all of the sameness and longing to eat "normal" foods again, I read your post about the Starbucks latte. Boy, did that sound good! And so normal, too! I went right out and got one (counted it as fluid) and it was "WONDERFUL"! I know you really took a blistering for it, but thanks for the great idea!

Mommy Teacher, I don't have much advice for you since I'm only three weeks out.. But it's great to see you here! Please feel free to come here all the time, ask any question you want, and know that we will always help and support you in anyway we can! We are ALL here to learn. I still can't believe how rude those people were to you, although I know you're probably ready to forget and move on so I won't mention it anymore.. But anyway just wanted to say that I'm glad you're here!

Well tomorrow I'll be 7 weeks out, but I'll join in... For breakfast I usually have either 1/2 a protein bar (low carb and low fat), or 2 bites of low-sugar oatmeal, or a saltine cracker with peanut butter. For lunch I usually eat some meat of some sort... like chicken from inside of a soft taco, chicken salad from 1/4 of a chicken salad sandwich, or a saltine cracker with peanut butter (only if I didn't have that for breakfast). For dinner I usually will have 3 bites of chicken or pork (depending on what I made hubby for dinner). Sometimes I'll have a bite of steamed veggies, too. If I snack, it's usually in the late afternoon, and I like a bite/two of banana or a sugar free snackwell's cookie (makes me feel like I'm still human). I drink 1.5 ISOPUREs a day to get in 60 grams of protein (plus whatever protein I eat). I count that as 30 oz of water, and I usually drink a 24 oz. bottle of water throughout the day. In the evenings I generally have another 10 oz of water... so I think I'm okay there, too. Now if only I could get my lazy a$$ to exercise!!!!!!!!! UGH! Dawn

I am eating pretty normal now. I can tolerate chicken, pork, ground meat but I haven't tried stead yet. I will wait a couple more months for that. I have had pasta and noodles but no rice. I have had raw tomato, celery, onion and cooked veggies. I haven't tried salad yet but I am going to soon. I also drink 1 protein drink in the morning since I am able to eat a lot of protein throughout the day. I also walk 2 miles 5 days a week. I am starting to feel a little more normal every day! Oh, and by the way, the sugar free cookies made by murray are a good treat also. I only have 1 but like you said.........it makes you feel human! Have a great day everybody! Tracie 265/235/160

I am able to eat ground beef and chicken. I eat alot of soups, chilli, string cheese, crackers, tomatoes, a bit of lettuce, cucumber, pasta, onion, eggs, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots. I also have had sugar free cookies on rare occasions. The only thing I have really had a problem with is tuna and eggs if they arent scrambled or poached. Patty
